Back to English? ✅ ✅ brilliant idea ^^

Soo... how has thine day been so far?

[confusing that obviously in olde english you say "it hath", but "it haS been" 😖 ]

😄 ...i think you'd make an excellent teacher...mine day goeth well...e'en though thine day is waning...and yet, hunger wilt soon draweth nigh, methinks... 😛

😂

Lo! Waning, alas yea 🙁 'tis nearly half six here...
What time is it yonder?

Tsktsktsk 🙄 -eth is only added when directly refering to the subject in the 3rd person, but not when added to an auxile verb like "will" 😛 hence "hunger will draw nigh", not "will draweth" nono 😆

Friday...mmmm...strawberries, but with cream and sugar...yes...

oh that...i was correcting something...sort of got that from you, i think???

You know, and I'm sure you do 🙄 ...it's interesting that 'Friday' is named after the Norse god 'Frigga?' or 'Freja?'...and Thursday and Wednesday after Thor and Odin or Woten...and yet Saturday is Jewish from 'Sabbath', and Monday for the moon...where did Sunday and Tuesday come from???

makes one think... 😛

Hmmm Strawberries with cream 😊 but without sugar no2 tastest better without ✅

lol ^^

Yes, I do know... at least Freja for Friday (Freitag in German) and Thor for Thursday ("Thor" is "Donar" in German I think... and Thursday is Donnerstag)... here nearly everybody believes that Freitag comes from Frei ("free"😉 + Tag ("day"😉 and Donnerstag from "Donner" (Thunder > "Thunder's day" 😄 )
The thing with Woten/Odin is interesting ✅ Wednesday is simply "Mittwoch" here, "Mid-week" 🙂

Monday is really from the moon? Cool ^^ here it's Montag, Moon is Mond... like French monde which means "world" 🙄
Sunday is really the sun I supposed (German Sonntag; sun is "Sonne"😉, Tuesday (Dienstag) - no idea.

But I like Tolkien's explanations a lot better 😄

Btw Tuesday (at least Dienstag does) originates from the God Thinsus 🙂

HI!

?(Thinsus)/Ziu is engl. Tyr, the god of War - like in French Mardi, Italian Martedi < Mars,Martis, Latin god of War 😉

Also fr Lundi / it Lunedi < fr lune, "moon" -> Monday

Mercredi / Mercoledì "day of Mercury" - what is Mercury the god of? Similar to Woten? dunno...

Jeudi / Giovedi: day of Jupiter, throwing lightnings like Donar/Thor < Thursday

Vendredi / Venerdì < day of Venus, love god like Freja 🙂

The Latin names:
dies Solis
dies Lunae
dies Martis
Mercurii dies
dies Jovis
dies Veneris
Saturni dies
^^

Not a stepchild,
Rather a brother 🙂 both's roots like in the Germanic tongues, coming from the ancient Indo-european (or Indo-Germanic) languages.
