What Is The Meaning Of Life?

Started by debbiejo52 pages

The meaning of life is to experience it! Really! If you don't, then it's all been for nothing.

the meaning of life is to be born reproduce then die, because we were blessed (or cursed ) with intellegence we search for a purpose beside that. Dam high life expectancys! lol

The meaniing of life "IS" one or a combination of these 3 things. 1.It can be all these answers and more. 2.Only God knows 3. There is no meaning.

And I guess whatever answer you pick out of the 3. You'll be ok.

Or, we can pick one that isn't one of yours, and be ok too.

it has to be one of my answers... Impossible if not.

No, or we can decide our own scenario and/or opinion and be ok.

As said above.

Exactly. When I said "it could be all these answers and more" I meant your own opinion..simply.

read up.

Not everything is to be taken at face value in this life and in this world.

some things do have meaning you know. I word statements here to provoke thought. Not to make it easy and obvious..c'mon.

Think critically, Alpha.

I think critically all the time, unless you noticed.

I meant what I said, but we agree. So it's good.

Like someone stated earlier in this thread, it's to "evolve" and somehow reach the ultimate goal of broadening the seemingly limited boundaries of humanity for future generations to reach either 1)immortality or 2)reaching a "golden age" of peace through accepting the spiritualistic things in life over that of the materialistic.

Maybe we're all given a "gift" from birth and the trials and tribulations we encounter throughout life sort of guides us on the path of coming to terms and discovering this "gift" in which can contribute to the evolutionary process via experience and wisdom.

Most fail to realize this gift as they succumb to such constraints such as having children, drugs, insanity, settling for medeocrity, just wanting to get by or just plain laziness..

Some of us come close to utilizing our gifts to it's fullest extent and thus make a huge mark in history such as your da vinci's, notradamaus's, bill gates, and laughably even Michael Jackson...

Once you know what your gift is, you must attempt to master it through perfection, reinvention, craftsmanship, perseverance or practice and hone it to try and reach it's fullest potential..Some may call this "genius".If mastered correctly it may contribute to the broadening of minds and thus spark "another genius" whom will follow suite and hone their own distinct "gift" from a totally different perspective thus reaching his own conclusion and sparking yet ANOTHER brain and the cycle will keep going and evolving until one of the 2 goals mentioned above occurs(them being immortality or a golden age of heaven on earth or an internal/external form of peace and spiritual harmony throughout humanity).

But, most die before even knowing their "gift" or genius in their particlar area. That's Gods goal in my book.

Da vinci did it for one era where painting was the ideal, so did Ben Franklin when inventions were the ideal, and I think for our century Michael Jackson did it to a extent via song where music is the ideal. That's why so many of the "greats" of our time are inspired by past greats of a certain era, Michael stated that Michaelangelo(the painter) was a great inspiration to his art. Picasso inspired by Da vinci, the list of inspiration is vast and plenty...

when you think about it there is no point in life, dont ya think?
you live through suffering, family "passing away" then after all the hard work...you die.

for me life is just to have fun and do what i want 😄

I think we are all here for a reason, all instrumental in attempting to help humanity reach a golden era or immortality..

Saying we're here just to experience life is too limited and simple. There are far too many wonders surrounding us to simply say we're here to "have fun"...What about the people starving in Africa....we're they put here to "have fun"?? or the other 3rd world nations for that matter...If we we're put here to "have fun" then what were they put here for? To die and wither away while we play the PS2 all day and drink Bicardi 151??

Your opinion is a great way to view life no doubt but I feel theres just more out there...

Btw..read my statement above alittle more thoroughly 😛 (Gosh, I sound like my Philosophy 201 teacher...

Why must there always be a meaning for everything. This is an examlple of egocentrism, the belief that something big revolves around you. You as a person, or you as a community. In this case, the community is humanity. As different as humans can be, we are still one big brotherhood.
But back on topic; there is no meaning to life. Just as your life must begin and end, so must mine, and so must all life in general.
The universe will end the way it began; as nothing.

^ Couldn't have said it better myself.

There is meaning to it.....you just have to see it......It's all around you.

Life itself is reason to live, to live it to the highest possible measure. Is that what you're saying?

Life has all kinds of meanings....you're the poet....you must know at least this......

from every touch, sound, feeling, scent....every look at what is around you...every detail.....every imagination.......every...function...every breath has life and can cause one to stir in some way....

Yes that's true, but what purpose does that serve in the grand scale? IMO we all have a seperate purpose. our lives all change the world we leave behind in death in some way. A purpose of life that applies to everyone is, IMO, impossible.

I know the meaning of life, but I can't tell you because there is no word for it.

No it is not.......all that's done, felt, shared, experienced...loved...makes an indent into everything....changes everything....starting from the inside and moving to the outside then moving all around you...until a change has been made....
