What Is The Meaning Of Life?

Started by grey fox52 pages

Ahhhh this one is kinda easy

Well from my point of view 'The Meaning Of Life' is to breed , quite simply . to carry our genes onto the next generation and to do this our body produces endorphins making sexual activity pleasurable , which in turn makes it addictive meaning people would therefore have intercourse with more people increasing the child count and the genes passed on.

"Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man." Ecclesiastes 12:13

I shall fear no one.

I still haven't decided wether God exists, but there is no such thing as Hell or Heaven.

When we die we all go to the same place, it's very beautiful. Even the bad people go there, but before that they may be trapped in limbo for awhile until they make amends.

I believe;

This is heaven, and you are right, we all return here, good and bad.

Just curious but.... why do you believe this?

How is that very much different from the Heaven/Hell/Purgatory scenario? All you have done is remove the option of Hell, make Heaven a little less perfect and replace the word 'Purgatory' with 'Limbo'...

And if you haven't decided whether God exists, how can you make such a sweeping statement about Heaven and Hell not existing? They are {supposedly} the two places in which our two direct opposites reside (God/Good and Satan/Evil)... just wondering.

the more you ask, the further you are from answering the question

Purpose of life: love and serve people and work hard to spread the good news...yes, many things in this world suck, but God's stronger than pain, loss, suffering, evil...The answers are there, we just don't like to see them sometimes

the purpose of life is never to be known. Got that!

Well said...

I mean, why is there a purpose to life if life isn't there on purpose?

Is anything there for no reason? Do things that are there for no reason matter atall?

Why care about that one stone on the floor, it won't effect anything with life if it was stood on.

My conclusion is, if life was made on purpose, it has a purpose. If life is there for no real reason then it doesn't have purpose.

There is no meaning of like..God creates you, God lets you live, God decides you're old and decrepit and its time for new people to be born and live so he says "GET THE FU** OUT", you die....the cycle may or may not start over again.
😛

Let this thread die... as I've explained the meaning of life is not within our reach just yet.

OK let's change the thread......"What's not the meaning of life?"

Answer: To do nothing with it.

This, in a sense, summarizes all other questions asked. It is usually understood as: "What are the highest values, the Supreme Goals which I should try to achieve?". We stress that every human being must freely set those goals for himself or herself. The Supreme Goal which we choose derives logically from our cybernetic world view: to make a constructive contribution to the evolution of humanity, in order to maximize our long-term chances of survival (immortality). In essence, the 'meaning of life' is to increase evolutionary fitness. Do you agree?
with a billion plus souls on this planet, each one of them will have different thoughts and ideas as to how to answer that question. some will agree and some will not.

but for me, simply put is this: i'm born, then i die. what i do or don't do between that will determine how much of an affect i had on other people's lives...

pretty vague, id'nit?

It's 42 silly 😛

Man, didn't I answer this on like page 3 or something? Or was that a different MoL thread?

Anyway, the answer is still 'to live'.

I think that's more of a requirement than a meaning.
