That's only one way to look at it. Name anything you can think of that you do during a lifetime and it's all a part of just living your life. Any verb imaginable that you can do in a lifetime fits neatly under the umbrella of 'to live' or, to put it a better way 'live your life'. Helping people, improving the life of the next generation, reproducing, furthering the evolution of your species...all of that is done by just living your life, and that's the whole point to having a life. Just to live it.
*off to look up self-referential*
The answer isn't for mathmaticians lol, it's for everyone. Besides...even they would find it to be true. If they practice mathamatics all the time and that's what they love to do, then they are living their life and therefore fulfilling life's meaning.
For some reason I think your post was meant to be more humourous, but I just don't know the meaning of self-referential. Time to study the Thesaurus. 😐

I was being a bit facetious, yes.
Of course you know what self-referential means.
Self- self.
Referential- the act of referring.
Referring to itself.
I don't think saying 'the meaning of life is life' means much at all.
You could probably more validly say 'the purpose of life is life'.

The meaning of life is to have compassion for others and to become awaken like Buddha to the truth of life: become detached from your self-centeredness and live for other living beings. Happiness comes when you concentrate on making others happy.
This is the true answer! You get what you give. The key to happiness for one's self is the happiness of others. The meaning of life can not be seen as a one person thing. We build meaning by helping others. 😄

I think, to word it in a more acceptable manner, try this;

Oh, you already did, my bad 😄
My point is that what AF said made perfect sense. Life is there for the living... what else is there? Reproduction, all of the emotions, occurences, thoughts etc. we experience during our lifetime are encompassed within this small instruction. Live your life however you want to, share yourself with whoever you want to... we're all going to die, that's the guarantee. But what we make of our lives while we're capable differs between every single individual. You cannot apply mathematics to something so varied, you'll probably make your brain implode if you try 🙄

So why were you born as a human being and not a doormat?

Because.
When all other answers fail, what is left, must be the correct answer.
I am here because I am here. If I was something else, then I would be something else wondering why I was what I am. There is no meaning in this.

The problem is; your "good word of the Lord" is different from other religions. So, when these different interpretations of what "good word of the Lord" means come into conflict, most often it end up in war.

The problem is you're arguing with someone who agrees with you.

I think "just to live it" is a cop out for people who can't discuss it properly really.
You attain a life, the SUGGESTION and advised course would be to extract your own purpose from it. There's no universal purpose really.
I think that might have been what you meant by "just live it." Just do what you do and get your own goals and achievements out of it by using the time you have. I could be wrong, I realise.

Life has no meaning in and of itself. It just is.
You choose to give your life meaning or purpose, or not to. Whether you choose to make your life about making money, being benevolent to others, selfish gain, to cause misery or whatever, it is your choice.
Some people choose to find no meaning in their life, and in a round about way, give it meaning by that action.
I don't really see the question "what is the meaning of life?" all that interesting. I am interested in "how one gives their life meaning" as I believe it is a personal choice rather than a universal imperative.
