Is Christopher Tolkien Evil

is the man evil or not.

yes he is evil- reasons

he makes a hell of a lot from the films, yet he says he doesnt like them
he writes notes in his dads books that nobody really reads anyway.
apart from say 'my dad read me the stories, i know more about them, i will edit them' and editing books, has the man ever had any other job?
he doesnt return any fan letters (story i read a while ago)

reasons against him being evil

he would actually know more, as his dad told him the stories.
he stays out of the limelight.
he writes notes which everybody loves to read asyou leanr more
he is only trying to help.

I repeat only what I already said

We should be thankful that he enriched the world by publishing all the material that wouldn't be known otherwise

Hell, without Christopher, there wouldn't even be a Silmarillion and a Melkor that could be based on him

Christopher isn't evil or whatever, he just doesn't swallow everything criticless like a vacuum cleaner.

If your father already told you of his world as good-night-stories when you were a child
You grow up with them
You spend years working with all the manuscripts, trying to arrange them, commenting them all with acribic details on names and languages
You'd also really love the books, the characters, the whole environment, wouldn't you?
And you would be quite critical about others' interpretations of it
You'd be disappointed if this amazing and complex universe would suddenly mostly be connected to a certain naively grinning actor and screaming girls and pointless slaughter of faceless soldiers, the milleniums of history reduced to some prissy blond elves and glittery blue housies in trees?

Wouldn't you?

Everybody has his opinion,
and this is Christopher's.

who better to know what chris tolkien is like that chris tolkien ey exa 😉

cry i liked the housies 🙁

*runs off crying*

i heard his dad based melkor on him 🥷

and Gothmog on any of chris' offspring

and fingolfin on me ✅ standing up to evil!

Based on Melkor - 4 votes
NOT evil - 1 vote?

Seems like I am the only person here who actually appreciated and worshipped Christopher's endless efforts, trying to open Tolkien's world also for normal mortals?

Or am I just the only one without a sense of humour?

you have a sense of humour. ✅

i just think he is an evil man who is slowly going to put his name as the author of the histories
then silmarillion
then lotr
and his father will be forgotten

NOOOOOO

we must stop that from hapening. do not underestimate the power of the dark side

C. Tolien is alright, but to say that PJ's movies were bad makes him not so nice.

lol good ole chrissy,

I say he is evil, he wants to take glory fopr the books by bunging his name on the cover by simply editting a couple of things 🙄

Well, he did allow movie rights for LotR, so that's a good thing. He did finish the Sil and expanded the history and world of ME, so he's not all evil. If he hasn't allowed rights for the Hobbit, he should.

Kill CHRIS Tolkien

he dosn't deserve to bare the name of Tolkien

if only exa were his daughter not chris❌

we shouldn't kill him, just torture him until he allows us to have a Hobbit and Sil movie

good idea. He is useless to us if we kill him.

I dont like him very much. If you loved your father and his work so much why wouldnt you want a movie made out of it so that more people could be introduced to it. I know if i didnt see the movie i wouldnt ever of known about LOTR.

chris=evil

I think the movies are awesome, but making the characters into actual people kinda gets rid of some of thie imagination IMO. People who read the book before seeing the film have their own ideas of the characters, but the actors always change them. Sometimes not much, sometimes for the better, but they're always changed!

Plus, the 'real' Tolkien didn't want a movie made of his books!

Oh i see. My bad. 😮

BTW, that wasn't posted as a retort to yours... 😄 I was writing it while you posted.

Are you sure about that...I seem to recall watching a featurette on the ROTK dvd that stated that he ( Tolkien ) was not against having a movie made of his trilogy, as long as it was done well.
