"If you want to avoid any more confrontations, you should order your people to stand down," says Faylar. "I will let you talk to them if you want."

"As for Argentis, you have no power here. He can do as he wishes. Why don't you ask him?"

Argentis slips in, sheepishly, though the door.

What is it with these wayward Knights ? I could understand these kinds of mistakes being made by a Padawan....

Gundark forced her frustration down. Let Mace deal with it. It wasn't her problem. She was here to complete her assigned mission and dammit, that was what she was going to do. But she let her disappointment show on her face and in her voice as she addressed Argentis. "Revenge is not the way of a Jedi, young Knight. Your deliberate violation of the Code and this...this single-minded act of anger driven retaliation against your former Master is completely inexcusable. You WILL explain your actions to the Council upon our return to Coruscant and I wouldn't expect much sympathy from Master Windu."

OOc: Where the heck am I?....I've been out of the loop awhile 😉

Lance looks to Xeth trying to figure out what to do.

Lance has an idea that may get him and his fellow Jedi into the palace, but he doesn't want to do it if he doesn't have to.

Yikes! Sorry, Julie, I rememberd to keep Phinney in the loop, but I must have somehow missed you!

Ok, I guess you are outside the palace, still. In which case, you can be with Ithrorn. He is currently just to the north of the palace waiting for the signal to create a distraction. Ask him any questions you like, to help catch up!

"I'm just doing what I must," says Argentis. "This situation is for me to resolve and me alone. I am doing as the Force wills."

"Quite so," says Faylar. "Argentis made a fair offer to me and I accepted it. I am not holding him here at all and if he wanted to go with you I would gladly let him be taken. As it is, taking him would be kidnap."

An aide knocks at the door. Faylar eaves him in.

"First Minister," he says. "Shareth's man has delivered the code box." Faylar breaks with a wide smile. "Good," he says. "If you would just excuse me a moment, people?" He starts to head to the door.

"Secondly, one of our ships is asking for landing clearance."

"So?" asks Faylar. "It can wait!"

"It is broadcasting a distress signal. And asking for medical attention. Some fighters from the blockade took pot shots."

"Yes yes... let it through," says Faylar. "And get a medical team out there. Someone get me the control switch!" he yells as he and the aide leave the room. The droidekas keep a silent watch and the door is locked.

(who's in here now? gundy, me, phinney, droidekas...yerssot?)

Gundy asked for an update as well.

Gundark, Phinney, Mah, and Yerssot are in the room sitting oppopsite Faylar's desk on comfortable sofas. None of you are armed; Kiel, who will arrive soon, laid down his weapons of his own free will, Gundy, Phinney and Mah wisely surrendered theirs, and yerssot's was stolen by queeq.

The door is locked and there are no other apparent exists. The room consists of an open visitor's area, Faylar's desk, and a ton of monitors at the back.

Two droidekas stand at each end of the door. Argentis, in bodyguard outfit, is between them, and he IS armed.

"I need to go," says Argentis. He hesitates. "I wonder what he means by code box?"

"Code box.....Argentis, don't you KNOW what Faylar's plans are ?? Do you have any idea the number of battle droids that are being shipped in here by the Hutts ?" Gundark was shocked. "What has he told you ?"

"Shareth IS giving him the codes then..." says Argentis, sorrowfully. "WHY was Shareth let through the bloackade, anyway?"

"She's supplying him with the droids," Gundark said simply. "Argentis...its time for you to let go of this charade. Its time for you to remember who you really are and what you believe in. Or have you forgotten?"

Mah looked at the two, Yerssot and Argentis, while remaining silent.

"I... I am a Jedi," says Argentis. "First and formost. I am simply doing what I must! And if Shareth was carrying a ton of stolen battle droids why the heck did the Republican Blockade let her through?"

(You guys DO remember why, don't you?)

''Faylar supplied her with the codes to get through the blockade'', Mah answered.

When you tell Argentis this, he visibly blanches. He then shakes his head vigorously.

"None of you understand," he says. "Kuylen was MY Master. The finest Jedi there was. He is MY responsbility, and no-one elses! You have no right to tell me I am wrong!"

-

Lance and Xeth, you guys are being approached again, by one of Faylar's officers.

"The First Minister's Compliments," he says, "and if you would come with me? Your Masters have decided to negotiate with Faylar so we can bring an end to this silly stand off."

"Argentis, Kuylen is NOT your responsibility. You were his, at one time. That time is past and you cannot return to it, " Gundark explained to the young Knight. "No matter how noble your intentions or valiant your efforts may be." She nodded at mah. "Your fellow Jedi is correct. The codes were given to the Hutt directly from Faylar. Do you now understand the mistakes you have made by going against the Council?"

"But you don't understand!" says Argentis. "None of you know him! None of you know the sort of person he was! It is for none of you to act against him, it is only for ME!"

At this momentm, there is an enormous humming power-up noise all around, as the base reverberates with the noise of Faylar activating the entire droid army.

Lance looks to Faylars officer.

He dabbles in the man's mind for just a second and feels no deceit in his words.

"Ok good sir. Just don't try anything funny. We are Jedi Knights you know." Lance said as he gets ready to follow the officer.

"You will need to hand over your sabres first," says the man. "Your friends have done the same." He awaits your response.

"I don't see any reason as to why we should do this. It just makes you look bad for possibly disarming a man who is in danger."

"We are telling you to do it because armed vistors are not permitted in the security compound and because your Masters have agreed to negotiate without force of arms. As far as I am concerned, you can either do this the easy way or the hard way."
