"Fine. We will do this the easy way."

Lance hands over his lightsaber, yet he conceals the lightsaber that was to be handed over to Yerssot.

Lance then looks to Xeth to see if he will do the same.

(Good thinking that man... you can keep your own one if you want, actually)

(Ok I'll do that. I'm more attuned to it.)

I am afraid I am taking a break for a day or two, which will give you guys time to think things over, but when I come back I will assume Xeth hands his weapon over unless he says otherwise.

I'll leave you guys with this:

In the room with Argentis, the monitors show you dozens of views from outside. And coming onto these monitors is rank after rank after rank of battle droids, endless thousands of them pouring out of the Palace onto the streets, ready to bring the war to the Loyallists and start the offensive that Verlaine feared. Lance and Xeth, the droids are pouring out of the entrance next to you.

Argentis watches the monitors with a look of pure horror on his face, and then he slowly collapses to the floor.

"What have I done?" he says. "I have let my anger blind me..." He turns slowly to you, Gundark.

"I gave Faylar the codes for the blockade. It was the only way he would let me in the Palace. And in doing so I have doomed this planet."

The droids march on.

Through the Force, Gundark felt the weight of the young Knight's grief and consternation fall heavily upon her as she met his eyes. "This is not the time for self-pity, Argentis," she began, not unkindly. A vast rumbling came through the floor and into the soles of her boots. The entire army of battle droids must have been activated.... she thought. "The results of your actions are seeing fruition as we speak. We must stop the droid army now! What are the rest of Faylar's plans ?"

Mah looked at the monitors, showing the thousands of droids pouring out. He saw that Argentis was regretting deeply.

"Faylar just wants the Confederacy..." says Argentis. "If he has any other plans, I don't know them. All he let me do was join his bodyguard. I knew Kuylen would come here for Faylar." He looks even less comfortable.

"But Kuylen isn't even here yet. He sent his thugs to do the job for him. I... I let the girl Edna into the palace. She says Kuylen will arrive from the top very soon." Argentis thinks for a few moments.

"I have to go," he says. He reaches under his tunic and produces the sabres for the three of you that gave them up. No luck yet, yerss, I am afraid.

Argentis then unlocks the door for you guys, which goes to show that even clever people like Faylar can be fatally distracted by the prospect of a huge droid army, and forget that all his bodyguards carry a full set of keys.

Gundark took her sabre and stepped quickly in front of Argentis before he walked out. "And where do you think you're going ?" But she already knew his answer.

"I have business to attend to," says Argentis. "And things I must do if I am ever to meet the approval of the Council again. I won't defy you, Master, but I ask you to step aside. If I strayed off the path I must find my own way back."

Gundark stepped out of his way. "I understand what you are saying Argentis," she told him. "That you feel you must follow this through to its conclusion, for it is your destiny alone." She looked deep into his eyes. "But know you this. I have fought Kuylen. With a lightsabre and every bit of knowledge of the Force I possess." She weighed each word carefully, trying to impress upon the young Knight the possible consequences of his actions. "My survival was the will of the Force. Alone." She put a hand on his shoulder. "Do not underestimate Kuylen's abilities nor his power of the Dark Side. It would be a fatal error." She let go of Argentis and stood back. And may the Force be with you, young Knight....

(OOC: Anyway we can move this along for me without Bespin Bart, aka Xeth?)

"Thankyou, Master," says Argentis. "And you have no need to warn me of the capacities of Kuylen. He was the greatest Knight I ever knew." He leaves.

Lance, yes, certainly. We will assume Xeth fights in the background if, like Rex, he cannot get back here. At this point you are being escorted up the main area. You are currently on the third level (Gundy and co are on level six though you do not know this), where there is a certain commotion going on. You can hear the buzz of an activated sabre... maybe two. Many people with guns are backing out of one of the corridors to the living quarters.

"Sir," Lance says, "I thought you said that all weapons and lightsabers were taken away. But I hear at least one."

"Yes, I have no idea what that is..." says the man, peering for a better look.

When you do the same, Lance, you get a shock. One of the people, with a yellow sabre, is a woman (who looks suspciously like Trinity from the Matrix) who is undoubtedly Krisha. Her back is towards you.

Behind her, one sabre out and his othjer hand on his trademark blaster, facing Krisha, is Quam.

BTW, Lance, at this time many battle droids are also slowly climbing up the main area to take their positions in the Palace.

Lance notices Krisha and Quam. His first instinct would be to jump Quam and face him in a duel.

But he then decides it is not the time to unveil his hidden lightsaber.

Phew... I am not sure if I have the systems for a three-sided 'duel' quite right, yet...

Your escort wants you to ignore it all and move on past, Lance. What appears to be happening is that Faylar's men- headed by a man who by his description is the one who shot yerssot in the last game- are trying to back away from queeq but Krisha is refusing.

Gundark could vaguely sense Lance somewhere in the Palace, along with some other presences that had to be Kuylen's thugs. She turned to mah. "The droid control has to be de-activated and Faylar must be stopped." And I'm not leaving without Argentis....

Some comments from the others would be welcome at this point.

As for either course of action, you know the following:

1. The Droid control switch is portable, though somewhat bulky, and almost certain to be with Faylar and his bodyguard.

2. Argentis is headed upwards, tipped off by Edna that Kuylen will arrive from there.

(still a bit out of it 😉 )
Sieri: I have a bad feeling about all this.....big big mess 🙄

''Then lets leave, shall we?'', Mah said to Gundark, ''should we all go together or split up?''
