We're using this thread for any possible mistakes we're confused about

i found out the answer to my earlier query pg 14 and courtesy of the leaky cauldron "The reference to 400 years is an error in the earlier editions of the text. This error has now been fixed, and current editions say 500 instead of 400."
so it was a mistake!! pity could have had interesting theories!! lol

What does NEWT stand for??

Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Levels 😊

Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Test

ooops thanks !! 😮 😛

can anyone give help with www.jkrowling.com?

what do you need help with? there's also a thread here specifically about her website - you might have to look through it a little, but it has all the locations for the hidden items in there.

yeah, sorry about that. i serched but nothing came up. found it though

umm something i only just realised whilst re-reading the harry potter books in preparation for the new book (cant wait!!) im on priori incantatum book 4 and if as the prophecy seems to suggest either Harry will have to kill Voldermort or vice versa in the end OK well then how is this going to happen because quote
'So what happens when a wand meets its brother?' said Sirius.
'They will not work properly against each other,' said Dumbledore. 'If however, the owners of the wands force the wands to do battle ... a very rare effect will take place.
'One of the wands will force the other to regurgitate spells it has performed - in reverse. The most recent first ... and then those which preceded it...'
OK so how are they going to do away with one another, brute force, perhaps Wormtail will repay his debt to Harry by either 1) letting harry use his wand or 2) do it himself perhaps!? or another way .... something to think about anyway!......

Why do ppl like Draco so much?? He's so mean to Ron and Harry, Especially Hermione. Okay... Maybe he's kinda hot, but still.. I like Tom Felton and all but MALFOY?!

I think Felton is well fit

I don't know if this question as been asked yet, and sorry for asking if it already has, but what year is this take is book six taking place? I think I heard something in book two because of The Deathday Party, but I can't find CoS. Can someone help me with this?

One more question. Why do we never see Peeves in the movies?

I think its cos they run out of time. Peeves was supposed to be played by Rik Mayall, but they always run out of time, just as, in PoA, Paul Whitehouse was supposed to play Sir Cadagon (and, in fact, he does, if you check out your extras), but they simply ran out of time in the movie, and some scenes and characters just had to take the chop

Ah. It will be weird if Peeves, then becomes important in any way or form in the future books. Try explain who he is this late in the movie when they knew him for so long. ^.^ But what year is it still for book 6?

^^ yeah i've been thinking that - all the things that they've left out/changed that could be relevant in future films ... it'll be really strange if they just start introducing these things later!
😖

Well, I found my book two. Nearly Headless Nick was killed in 1492 Oct. 500 years from that is 1992. 1992-1993 was Harry's second year, so 1993-1994 fourth, 1994-1995 fifth. So the sixth book will be 1995-1996. I answered my own question. ^.^

I think Rik Mayall would be PERFECT for Peeves. For anyone who's not sure who he is, here's some info...

RIK MAYALL

I personally feel his best performances were in the 'Bottom' series, 'The Young Ones' and his 'Blackadder' cameos, but other people may prefer different things...

Warlocks were supposed to ride on garden rakes occasionally, rather than broomsticks.

The author could just as easily have used terms like 'conjuror' or 'sorceror.'
