Ush> Yes, the Greek comment was supposed to be humour.
And yes – men and women in the army probably don’t mix well together. We’re diffent. But what’s to prevent anyone from making male/female platoons? Or find out what gender-determined traits and advantages are best where?
Finti> You lost me… How would a woman applying for a post in the military not have time to to think about constitutional principals when the s*it hits the fan?
How would a woman applying for a post in the military not have time to to think about constitutional principals when the s*it hits the fan?not women, the entire apparatus.
Women in Combat
So, I have my own VERY strong thoughts about this. The point of this post is to ask the general public their opinion.
In today's military, the respective gender of a male or female officer or NCO is debatable in its importance. My question is, with the vast difference between men and women's PRTs, and their training as a direct result, what do you think the impact is in this nation's military? Should men and women be trained with the same standards? Is the difference in basic standards justified? Does the difference in their training make a difference in their command ability? Should women be allowed in the armed forces? If so, should they be treated the SAME as men? Why SHOULDN'T they? Why SHOULD they?
If a medic is a female, should she be expected to perform exactly the same as a male in the same circumstances? Or should she be held to a lesser standard because she is a female?
i think it depends on the role in combat...apparently women make better fighter pilots because, in general, they tend to be smaller and thus G-forces affect them less than men and so they can stand the rigours of being in cockpit more
but in general i think training needs to be standard across the board and dropped in terms of physical ability in order to accomadate the physically weaker...whether that be women or simply weaker men. otherwise you risk have a less capable military
Re: Women in Combat
I have no problem with women serving on the front line. In fact I think they should be included in the drafts. Equality's a *****, so to speak.
What I do have a problem with is the inevitable complaining back home about how women inevitably get treated while there (and there will be one no matter what the treatment is).
The reason why they don´t fight on the front line is because they tend to get gang raped if they are caught. Not a nice experience I would imagine (unless you into such perverted stuff).
Also women are weaker than men, this isn´t s exist remark its a physical fact, a fighting troop is only as strong as its weakest member because team work is a major part of a fighting unit.
I speak from experience, plus I´m a romantic and don´t like the thought of women fighting.
Well, the thing about letting women into the military, the police is that everyone makes this huge stinker about "violence against women". If a woman can't even take a punch then how well does she take a bullet? If you wouldn't hit a girl, why would you give her a job where she could get *killed*? So women join the military and demand that they shouldn't have to serve in combat positions because they want "equality". Women should get off their fat asses and go to Hell like they deserve and stop trying to make our lives miserable.

But male prisoners having blunt and lube-less objects shoved up their asses is a "nice experience"?
Generally speaking, yes, women are weaker, but the military has test, those who fail to meet the standard, can be weeded out that way.
My eCasanova. Swoons. Are you also against female boxing and other competitive martial arts?
I don´t at all like female boxing, not against it, everyone should do what they want. But I personally don´t like it, to other fighting sports like Judo arn´t a problem as they don´t appear too brutal.
But as for front line battle, I don´t think women are suted for this role, thre´s bound to be exceptions of course, Ive met some really scary butch women.
As for men getting tortured, well in a perfect world no one would have to be on the front line
