I can't believe you actually think the ref was right! England should have won, and we did win, according to the majority of UEFA officials who were asked about the incident.
I call it unfair that Beckham is made to take a shot on a dodgy penalty spot, and then the Portugese are allowed to fix it for theirs. Merely by going second they had an advantage.
Putting it simply, if ANYBODY else was refferring that match, England would have won, no penalties. I still can't beleive they let a Swiss ref call the match!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF?????????!!!!!!!
funny you say that, in the sportshow we had overhere, a ref said that the UEFA Ref commitee said it was a correct decision!
the keeper was hold back, that's a fault and he whistled before Campbell touched the ball so technically the attempt never really existed in the first place

I'm sick and tired of all these peeps who keep on calling the ref question every time they lose...Had he be Cinghalese, you would have found another thing to blame him for. The ref is right, because he's the ref, and we don't care about all the officials asked about it : you only use them because you can't admit the truth. Had England won, you would have said the contrary. That's pathetic.

well, GP, you gotta admit if you have to critisize anyone besides your own team, it's the ref, cause he has to make the decisions ... but I agree with you that it's a bit annoying that some scream blood and murder about something that you can't possibly see as a correct goal

I think you read about those UEFA officials at yours tramp press like The Sun and Daily Mirror.
I read today a story about a manipulation of portuguese press news at Daily Mirror : Some days ago portuguese newspaper Record published about Rooney saying that he like Hamburguers a lot. It was just a curiosity, because Record story talked about Rooney as a great and dangerous player, like one of the best players and one of the revelations of Euro 2004.
But Daily Mirror, only took the part of the text about hamburguers, giving people the idea that we dislike Rooney and that he was a crap.
Then made of this manipulation it frontpage, with a pic of Ronney giving Hamb. to Figo.
Strange. TV showed real english football fans after the game, here in Lisbon, congratulating Portugal. An saying that they will support Portugal. They are sad of course but they had a lot of fair play.
The fans, the players and Ericksson didnt blame the ref either. The only blame was given to the grass around the penalty spot, but it is an equal motive for both teams.
There were not stupid hooligans in Portugal. Just a few ones. I am very glad with english fans attitude here. I drank a few beers with some of them and they were perfect ✅
But with all the hooligans restrictions to leave England, it seems the scum stayed all there. And it is "funny" to see people destroying their own country.
So, only happened disturbs with drunken fans and hooligans in England, like some stupid kids in Jersey insulting a family of portuguese fans. But this family didnt care at all 😛
