That's like when Green Lantern was saying "Doomsday was faster than The Flash." Right, we're supposed to believe that based off of one statement, when the Flash has actually proven his speed BY going FTL, breaking numerous barriers and even zipping through time.

well light speed isnt a set speed in DBZ

the dub calls it instant transmission
then it says that it allows the user to go at light speed
then it says that kid buu could use it to destroy solar systems in minutes (light takes hours to cross a solar system)

light speed is often used as the fastest speed that the writer can think of without considering the realities of light speed

Actually Gotenks had 29 minutes to make that trip (fusion wore off in 30 minutes, he had one minute left when he went to Buu's house). Also in canon it was never stated that Buu did or could destroy a solar system, galaxy, or anything other than a planet really.

The dub was wrong, Shunkan Ido is instantous meaning it happens as soon as it's used; That's faster than light.

why not learn something about sdk before trying to debate against it. the fact that you are asking for how things work, shows that you probably havent read it.

i don't really get the point of being a hypocrite when it comes to judging something like the speed of a sdk/dbz chars. i know dbz's speed of light translation from early in the series was an error, from the dub. sdk's wasn't, and it wasn't a figure of speech or anything. I don't really know how you can argue against it

Actually, no has to research anything. The burden of proof is on you to prove your claim, not us. You claimed they move as fast light, you prove they can.

Again. PROVE that the SDK characters can move faster than light. All you have are statements. Give me a feat that they perform where it actually shows them displaying light speed. (e.g. moving faster than a beam of light, moving long distances in a single moment, and so on) None of that "He is faster than light.. Or His sword is faster than light." crap.

I don't have to research the series. The burden of proof lies on you, and so far, you're not proving diddly squat as to why you think SDK-verse characters can take out DBZ characters.

Nobody's being a hypocrite here, either. All I ask is that you give me a demonstration where SDK displays like-light, light-speed, or faster than light speeds. Otherwise, all you have are mere statements, which, again... is weak. Look at the statement made by Green Lantern regarding Doomsday being faster than the Flash.

Why does it still matter if SDK character can move literaly at light speed when its established DBZ characters can go much faster?

This is a most powerful character thread if you're too slow to hit goku there's no way you're the most powerful character in anime.

Because there are people who naively believe that SDK can beat DBZ senshi based on mere techniques alone.

Crap like "He can turn x into stone"

or "He can attack his soul"

or "He can absorb his power"

or "He can create a black hole"

somehow being able to take out Goku, who has a bevel of feats that demonstrate his speed, strength and power is just fanwanked logic.

digging out my old list of most powerful I would like to note that goku is not even on it (having gone down to Tenchi).

Beating Goku isn't really sufficient to make someone powerful

But his power is channeled into physical capability right.

Also, he has the light hawk wings, the single most cheapest plot device known in fiction.
