The majority of the speeds that proceed lightspeed can't even be registered by the human eye, so, how can you see someone move faster than light? It's hyperbole, plain and simple.

So, is Doomsday actually faster than the Flash because Green Lantern said so? The same Flash that outruns bullets, explosions, sound , LIGHT and breaks just about every other conceivable speed barrier? No. Same principle as Hishigi being FTL. You need feats, i.e. a demonstration of that so-called speed, to be considered FTL. Right now, all you have is "But a lot of characters said he is." It's not like I'm asking for much. I just want an instance, out of all those statements made by SDK characters, where somebody actually showcases that level of speed. Outrunning an actual beam of light, moving long distances in a moment, stuff like that. Are you telling me you can't get that?
And I know I seem like I'm hating on SDK, but truthfuly, I'm not. I actually really want to read the manga now, but the thing is, if people were to concede that Hishigi actually was FTL based off of a simple statement (hyperbole, like Emperor mentioned), what's to stop something even more outrageous w/no backing to be true?
I want a second and possibly third opinon (this is due solely to personal biases).
I reckon Yuki is pretty damn smart, too. Remember, she was smart, witty and had enough judgement to beat Ryoko in her own turf (where she had complete power) in the anime. She can also create closed dimensions just like that, hack actual reality w/a computer, hack, hack and hack computers and whatnot. Plus she has information from the Universal Data Entity.

In the novels she dies without the IDE to keep her going and as Ryoko points out her mind is under the IDE's jurisdiction.
Still, due to the facts before me, I will concede that Edward Elric is not the smartest character in anime (even though he is 😛 ). I'd like some more suggestions from other people before I update it.

Z is probably the most powerful super powered character for one thing..
Light. Hawk. Wings. This is a technique that multiplies the affects of attacks by zero, negating it and also multiplies the defense value of the opponent, by zero, also making it completely null. With it, he literally takes out entire chunks of planet, nonchalantly.
He's also shown incredible speed, as during the OVA3, he and Tenchi quickly fly from Earths orbit all the way to Saturn in an instant.
Genius, I guess goes to Washu. However, she *was* a goddess at one point, so it's not exactly fair..
Has this thread become you, me and Ashtar?
alright from what you've said Z looks like he takes it for superpowered character
Washu is the only suggestion left for Genius so she has that for now.

Show me something more than somebody TALKING about him. You would be wise to learn how to read, as I've given you an example of how that's hyperbole w/the GL statement.
