See, I don't see being married to someone being the same as them being your soulmate. So many people think that they're perfect for each other when they marry, and then end up getting divorced...like my parents did.

can i ask....how long were they married to eachother? and when was your mother pregnant with you?

i still am, and so is my girlfriend.
we're not "waiting for marrage", just the right time
we have an understanding, if she wants to do anythin, she only has to ask
and i dont know about soul mates, but the only things we dont seem to have in common(after a year and a half of dating) is this: i love halo, she dosent like it much

guess you can always hope she'll like Halo 2 more... 😄

I was born just before my mom turned 24 (like literally days before). So she wasn't THAT young when I was born...and they split up when I was 9 years old...so they were married for 14 years. But they married young -- my mom was 19 and my dad was 21.

Virgin and always will be! ✅

Why the Heck would anyone want it to be differently?! 😂

Yep I'm a virgin 😮

I've never been able to explain long relationships that fail. My closest aunt just divorced her husband of 31 years....and I couldn't understand that for the life of me.

Those are the cases that I don't believe in soul mates. By your two definitions....anyone that you'd be willing to stay with for the rest of your life, and anyone that would be willing to stay with you for the rest of their lives would be soul mates. And if not....then why be with them for so long?

Mmm interesting topic 😐

Staying together to do not cause any problems, like my parents, they don't love each other as husband and wife only as friends and they have stayed together for 24 years

See, I believe that if my father wasn't an alcoholic, they'd have been able to stay together. But honestly, I'm glad they split up -- it really got rid of a lot of stress in my life, and also for my younger brother and sister. And I also can't stand my father and haven't spoken to him for a year...but that's another story.

^
^dude, nice sig!
great movie!

That sucks Trin. My parents are both alocholics and it's been pretty much the only cause of stress in my life aside from witty people with such intelligent comments as..."hey did you guys know you're twins?" when I'm standing right next to my brother *who is very obviously my twin*

Had he not been an alcoholic, he'd probably have been able to communicate with you, your sisters, and your mother better, and things would probably be alright. Instead you feel like you do today.

So as i was saying....blah blah blah...animals....blah blah...discovery channel....😄

Back to that song, huh?

And it was actually my decision to not see my father anymore...and I think it's one of the best decisions I've made.

And...I don't believe it...but this thread is actually a serious conversation in the OTF!!! *falls over and dies*

i've had those, somtimes they're not a good thing

So what happens if you're with this "soul mate" and that person dies?

Does that mean that since it was your soul mate you should do something like kill yourself? or worst yet, never love another person?

This world is too random and chaotic to have things like soul mates...all we have are mates. A soul is just a word that humans made up. it's not the thing that enables you to walk through automated doors.
