Thanos Vs. Darkseid

Thanos still beats Darkseid regardless

Rubbish. Thanos didnt fight Odin almost to a standstill, he kept attacking Odin and had no effect whatsoever. On the other hand, Odin kept stepping up his attack little by little until Thanos was clearly incapable of defending himself. Taking pity, Odin asked Thanos if he was ready to give up yet. Thanos, being too stupid to know when to quit, and having full knowledge of the fact that none of his attacks had the slightest effect on Odin, said "no". That's not fighting to a standstill, thats asking to have your ass kicked after it's already happened once.

yea that was before all his upgrade

current thanos is strong then before

IMO, current Thanos takes current Darkseid 6/10 w/o prep. W/ prep, Thanos trounces Darkseid 8/10.

I'm not disrepsecting Darkseid; he used to be a beast, but just isn't what he used to be. When DC writers start portraying Darkseid as the top of the food chain again (smacking down Superman would help), I'll change my opinion.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Thanos taking a slight majority w/o prep and 8/10 w/prep. Anyone here that's not a noob can tell u that I LOVE The Mad Titan. But after reading thru the Darkseid respect thread...His non-prep feats just seem slightly more impressive. So I gave him the slight majority over my guy.

From a different angle though, look at the beatings each character has taken. Doomsday almost killed Darkseid, and we know Supes has whipped on him. Thanos on the other hand took a beating from the Magus with a few gems, and a slight one from Odin. Both of those guys would beat the living shit outta DD and Supes ✅ So from that angle, you could argue Thanos takes this.

I still think thanos has the edge with no prep...lately he has been takin people out with single blows

Hmm. Definitely a close one. But if I were a gambling man (which I'm not), my money would be on Thanos of Titan.

Let's look at the matchups:

Intelligence: Darkseid is one of the most brilliant schemers in the DCU. Anyhow. Thanos has outwitted the Magus twice, beaten the Grandmaster on his home turf, and tricked Mephisto at least once. If this battle is one of long-term strategy, Darkseid loses.

Power: While Darkseid is arguably more powerful (especially if we're using the King's Darkseid), the power difference isn't all that significant. The Omega Effect will not be a factor, since Thanos is simply too powerful. If all they're doing is tossing around energy bolts, Darkseid has the advantage, but I don't think that's how the battle will go.

Fighting Skills: Darkseid is a skilled warrior (he has to be to take on Orion in single combat), but Thanos overtakes him here. Thanos personally trained Gamora, who is at least one of the top five martial artists in the Marvel Universe. Thanos has at least held his own with the finest warriors of Asgard. If Thanos turns this into a hand-to-hand fight, Darkseid will be fighting at a heavy disadvantage.

Speed: Darkseid can cope with Flash-level speeds, but Thanos has repeatedly slaughtered the Silver Surfer in open combat. Too close to call.

Endurance: Thanos has fought *Odin*. In *Asgard*. And held him almost to a standstill. Name me one occasion where Darkseid has even matched this. Keep in mind also that Thanos cannot die, because Death banned him from her realm. Darkseid is going to have real problems keeping Thanos down.

Well said.

kinda off topic here but, are there any comics where Thanos comes to earth to meddle with it? I know he's a terror to the univers, but none of the comics i have him in show him going to earth.

You mean other than the one where squirrel girl defeats him and sends him to an earth prison?

Darkseid every single time.

Are these the scans?

Which comic is the one where she hands him in to the police...the comic above is from the GLX Special #1?

that was wonderful. good times. wish i still had the comic.

😆 @ the Squirrel Girl scans.
I wish that she confronts Wolverine one day.

p.s. what comic is it where superman beat darkseids head in?

I still don't get it. Darkseid can easily defeat him with the Omega Beams. Why couldn't he do that?

because he is Thanos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like an explanation to me. Not like a good explanation, but still an explanation.

Thanos vs Darkseid

Thanos beats Darkseid hands down, & here's why when comparing his abilities & accomplishments to that of Darkseid:

The Heart of the Universe (object) which as used by Thanos affected all of the Marvel Multiverse (just like the Anti-Life Equation used by Darkseid affected all of the DC Multiverse). Difference is though that the Heart of the Universe made Thanos the Supreme God of the Marvel Multiverse while the Anti-Life Equation did not do that for Darkseid only made him a threat to all of the DC Multiverse. Unlike Darkseid whom was stopped by Batman, no one stopped Thanos - he willingly gave up the power.

On top of that Thanos conquered his own universe (Earth-616) twice, once with the Cosmic Cube and the other time with the Infinity Gauntlet, temporarily both times of course. There is also an alternate universe where Thanos not only conquered that reality with the Infinity Gauntlet but also never gave up the power (served the cosmic goddess Death making scheduled sacrifices on selected worlds).

In the alternate universe of Ultimate Marvel, Thanos ruled an empire of 10,000 worlds for 1000s of years. In Earth-616 reality, Thanos defeated the cosmic entity Tyrant (whom rivaled Galactus in power & ran his own intergalactic empire billions of years ago while attempting to dominate the universe). Thanos also escaped a pocket dimension, absorbed its power & that of alien engines in the savage land, & then started to devastate the universe by opening singularities in random galaxies.

Thanos is long-lived (1000s of years) & a mutant but NOT a god like Darkseid, all the powers & abilities that he has by now he gained thru both mystical & technological enhancements & mutations. Thanos has armies & armadas of followers (the Children of Thanos in the 1970s, including the Badoon Empire & numerous alien mercs, then the Cult of Thanos in the 1990s, & later the Black Order in the 2000s).

A technically fairer comparison to Darkseid (in other words a god or demon) would be Dormammu the sorceror demon of the Dark Dimension whom absorbs realities to his dimension (exists in many alternate Marvel Universes, and in Earth-616 nearly absorbed the universe to his Dark Dimension and later almost replaced Eternity - NONE of the DC Demons have achieved anything close to that) or how about Shuma-Gorath the Master of the Old Ones (Lovecraftian demon), whom rules over 100 universes in the Marvel Multiverse & whose aura alone is sufficient to destroy a galaxy in Earth-616 reality).

I would say that based on Thanos NOT being a god, he has achieved far more than Darkseid in many, many ways.

did... did you just bring up alternate reality versions of thanos like they're canon? Also, thanos conquering the universe at large (often through the use of prep time and weapons that grant godly powers) doesn't factor into this fight. Lastly, who the **** are you to resurrect a years old thread and act like thanos stomps without even comparing their actual abilities and in the face of thanos getting his shit pushed in on numerous occasions recently?
