What came first, the chicken or the egg?

Ok, other than to satisfy the cravigs of an infinitely wide philosophical debate, the chances of that happening are about zero arent they? Let's be honest here.

I wouldn't say so... because if one didn't realise, then one wouldn't know of it happening. As simple as that....

Nothing happens for a reason, for that implies that a God/Creator is behind everything with a purpose in mind - there's no sense in that. Everything happens without any reason, purely based on one event following another in endless continuity. There will only be a reason behind everything if there's a God. But why would a God create if he already knows what the future is?

If as you believe, life is simply a battle to stave off entropy, the result of random chance and ultimately purposeless, why do you even go on?

Whaaaaat? The concept of organisms evolving into a lifeform which reproduces via eggs, is not much more logical than an egg magically appearing?

I wasnt talking about an egg magically appearing. I meant from macroevolution and spontaneous generation.

A species similar to tha chicken came before it and slowly evolved in to wut we now call a chicken. the egg of course came first, but a nother chicken or 'evolving into a chicken' species laid tha egg.

Tha religious theory is that God just placed them on earth. probably chicken first as Adam and Eve were first and not some fetus.

The egg came from first. No question. Aliens created the egg from and experiment. Not knowing what to expect from hatching, they dropped it off on a distant planet (Earth) so they observe in safety. This is why aliens keep comming back. They are not trying to study us, but to observe the progress of the chicken. Damn, people are so dumb.

The Egg came first and was sat one by some animal other than a chicken then a chicken hatched from it and that chicken laid an egg and sat on it etc...

the shape of the egg came before chickens, as the geometrical shape has existed since soon after the universe was created.
Then the dinosaur eggs and fish eggs came into being.
THen the chicken ancestor eggs.

THEN the chicken.

but eggs can't orgasm, so the chicken came first.
