Comic of the month!

I've just read GLRebirth #2 today, and it looks as though parallax is actually a seperate being to hal jordan. They refer to the impurity of the ring, and that 'it has a name' (parallax).
I think that's why kyle is unwilling to use his ring - he's afraid that it might take over him.
All of the other GL's that were using their rings look like they are going mad because of this impurity, but it looks like kyle will be the one to sort the mess out, as he hasnt used his ring since landing on earth.
I seems as though the impurity of the old GL corps rings is actually parallax, and is seperate from hal jordan (it took control of hal when coast city was destroyed)

is he gonna take it to a volcano and cast it into the fire next issue?

lol, i saw the cover for the first issue, im not big on dc but it looks interesting, the whole ring thing is taking a kind of LOTR direction though which is a little wierd, i mean its a ring that when used it can take him over....

I like the way that parallax is being defined as different to hal jordan, which kind of explains why he just suddenly went mad after the destruction of coast city.

And the way the other GL's have been using their rings lately seems as though they are about to be taken over by parallax soon as well.

I only started to read comics a couple of years ago, and for the first year, I was a mainly marvel fan, and never even bothered to look at the DC titles, but I now think that a lot of the DC titles are more creative than the marvel ones (I hate the way marvel releases something like 20 x-men comics. THere are other characters than the x-men!!).
The one thing that I think that has saved DC over the last few years is the vertigo range (with: sandman, lucifer, hellblazer, preacher, fables, we3, etc...).

im not big on dc's comics, people are always talking about marvel but when i look at the dc wall in my comic shop its even more rediculous than the marvel wall

Marvel.com has a picture of the new avengers up. There is Cap, Wolverine, Iron Man, Spiderman, Luke Cage, Spiderwoman, and two other people. Anybody know how they are?

EDIT: oh i see the other guy youre talking about, hmmmm....he wasnt mentioned in bendis interviews...maybe he plays a small role

...thats wierd i dont know which ones the sentry, if he has a new look with the flying guy or if he's the dude with the nunchaku's

its probably some secret character they want to keep under raps till dec. 1st......anyway i tried googling it but i just found a bunch of forums on people giving it bad criticism although the 1st issue hasnt even been released

Seriously, everyone already hates it. It deserves a fair chance and I'm always for reading roster changes. Too bad about Thor though. 🙁 I also don't now how Wolvie will fit in the Avengers. It sounds interesting but I hope he remains in 1 team and doesn't juggle avengers and x-men. If he does he will be everywhere! (like hes not already)

yeah thats true, it would be great to have him exit in uncanny and normal xmen (or just one of them), but im gonna give it a chance, its a good line-up, everyone said the same crap when quicksilver, scarlet witch, and hawkeye joined the avengers for the first time when stan lee held it, its a bold move and i like that, im definitely gonna check it out, bendis said theres a good reason for logans membership to the avengers which makes me even more interested, especially the enemies they're going to face

I have no problem with the lineup change, I just hated his fanboy writing the past few Avengers issues. Ultron shows up! No, it's not really Ultron! People die for faux drama! The Mansion's destroyed! Hyperrealistic dialogue that eats crap! THEN EVERY AVENGER EVER SHOWS UP FOR NO REASON! YEAH! Well...uh...well...I-I-I-I...YEAH!

Depending on how the first arc is, if I don't really like, REALLY REALLY like it, I'm just going to drop it. Everyone loves him, he sells hundreds of thousands of books a month, and I just find his writing to become less and less impressive as time goes on.

every avenger shows up because it was a full-on attack, first this dude explodes killing ant-man and then friggin vision comes down MELTS and is not ONE ultron but MANY ultrons!!!!! thats pretty damn insane, i think that calls for every avenger to show up ASAP

his writing is great imo, secret war, his run on ultimate xmen, disassembled, theres more i just cant name them all, he's the only man imo that could have so many top-class heroes in one team and give them all their dues, i cant wait to see what he's going to do with new avengers

The dude who blew up was Jack of Hearts, an Avenger close ally to the team who deserved better, IMO, as did Scott Lang. Those are just story points I differ with mostly, which happen all the time, so it's just style differences instead of bad story points. His work has put out some great stuff, I just don't count his Avengers among his list of greats.

Actually, it was later revealed all those heroes that showed up were mostly magic manifestations from Wanda's mind.

thats the great part of the story, her powers growing and getting out of control, with her changing her life to be happy its a really good story, i thought it was amazing, and i think the new avengers and house of M are going to be just as amazing
