how? i dont know anything about making sigs. all i'm worried about is resizing them.

Well, it depends on what program you're using. Most programs have a "Resize Image" thing.

photoshop. I'm accualy try to make one right now but I don't know ow to krop the image

That's the Photoshop toolbar, use the Crop tool to crop images (select the part you want and either double-click it or hit enter). If you want to resize it, go to Image > Image Size.

omg thank you!

How can I put images in my sigs without making them look stretched and making your eyes go squinty? I always use edit/transform/scale (photoshop CS) to fit my images. Any suggestions?

I think you can hold down the Shift key to scale the pics down without distorting them. 😉

Good man. Thanks for that!

I feel REALLY dumb asking this but how do you download fonts from websites? I can download them and save them in my documents etc but can't seem to incorporate them into photoshop.
Feel free to add a sarcastic smiley with any responses!

You need to put them in your fonts folder, usually it's C: \Windows\Fonts or something like that. Then when you open Photoshop they'll all be there.

And if you can't find the folder, go to My Computer - Fonts

Any tips on making a good grunge background? I have the brushes but I can't seem to produce any backgrounds of a decent standard. They end up looking all smudgy and weird.

You may have a corrupt installation, did you try reinstalling it? That happened to me before and after I reinstalled it, it stopped doing that.

Some tips I'd suggest....

- Don't enlarge the brush any bigger than it's default size.
- Layer it -- do part of it on one layer, a bit more on the next, etc. This'll let you control the colors for the different parts, as well as letting you do other things like layer blends and stuff.
- Try out a variety of brushes, you might just have a crap brushset and that's why it's not working out. I have on my computer something like 250 brushsets of various types, and on our other computer about 50.

Also, I'd suggest always brushing with black on white, or white on black. That way you get the best contrasts and tones. Use layer overlays to add colors.
