But PNG would make the file too large for KMC.
Save as GIF, and if your Save For Web option were working, set Matte Color to None.

My main problem is that I've been simply doing "sigs by numbers" ie working my way through a particular tutorial word for word. It's time to start using my own imagination with sigs and producing my own ideas. PS Barker, my mum caught me.
I follow some tutorials too, but to find out how to do certain effects...when I follow tut's I add my own things, take some away, or just alter small things to make them different.
What I usually do when using tutorials is loosely follow it -- I'll follow most of it, but change or leave out things I don't like, and add in other things that I like. That way you can alter the outcome to how you like it, and learn new things while you're at it.
I've done this with tutorials I've seen at gamerenders and actually have the tutorial maker say that my outcome was better than theirs a few times.
You use PSP, right?
If I remember correctly this is how you do it....First, make sure all the parts you want transparent are colored with a color that's nowhere else in the image. I believe there's a Color menu bar, in that go to Decrease Color Depth and set it to 256. Then go to Transparency (also in the Color menu) and set the transparent color to be the color of the parts you want transparent. Then, save as a GIF.
Hope that's right 😑
