OHHHHHHHHH BURN!!!

Yes, particularily her appearance was based off of my ex.

And how exactly is that a burn Robo-thang? She was my ex when I created the character to begin with.

So, do you outline the steps, then base each issue around a step? Do you outline the whole series in advance to get a good flow and strong closure? You can tell that's how they did the spiderman trilogy; its so integrated. And obviously you already know how many issues it takes for you to move Naomi to your goal for her.
Do you ever wish you could find a penciller and an artist to collaborate with? See, I prefer comics as a medium over writing, though I love them both.
When I look at something like Kurt Busiek's Astro City or Marvel's "Marvels" series; it seems obvious that the fusion of pictoral and narrative storytelling is the strongest- but most comics don't capitalize fully on either. I mean, the art is often action without atmosphere, and sometimes the dialogue is used to clarify the action rather than the charactor! A good example would be the scan that was posted in female-sym-pics of She-Venom. In the scene, there's a dialogue balloon stating "she's somersaulting towards the window." Now shouldn't that be clear in the art? Uggh!
Its obviously a challenging medium; even the professionals often don't do it right.

By the way, Robo, it reflects well on a person when they don't demonize their ex! You should know that (and I think you probably do- that remark is well below your usual level.)

I don't really outline the steps per-se. It's all just in my head. I know what I want the characters to do, and where I want them to go. I don't necessarily base each issue around a step, multiple steps will occur in each issue. I tend not to see each issue as an individual story, but a piece of a single expanding story.

As far as an artist collaboration- Yeah, that would be cool. I've had offers before, but mostly by people who can't even draw as well as me. If I did have someone draw out my stories in comic form, their art would have to be superior to mine, otherwise I'd just do it myself.

I think we'd all love to see even a sample page of She-Venom in action. It would be cool to maybe end one issue with a final comic page. Maybe the last issue or something- wrap it up in that medium. I'd LOVE to see it, Koto.

...I didnt understand what half of that meant.

and i'm sorry about the burn thing. I meant it more as a joke/just kidding.

and I did understand what fever red said. i thought it would be funny so I pretended not to understand.

I think both of you(koto, and fever)
are two very intellignet people, who really know what they are doing and I find koto's fan fic, much more refreshing then the half baked stuff marvel has given us recently(venom storyline*cough*)

you 2 are geniuses

I might do something like that, it really depends on what kind of time I have. Once September hits, I'm not going to have a lot of time to do anything.

So lovely to see someone else able to articulate that fact so well. I don't think most people don't think about or even notice it that much, and then there are still more that DO require that sort of printed reiteration for the depicted action...you know the kind of person...they tend to read aloud. Very poorly. But I say, at least they're making an effort, right?

You know Robo- I haven't bought a single issue of Marvel since the clone saga. It all just burned me too much. I prefer fanfic now, too.
Oh and, Bad S, you be She-Venom and I'll be She-Carnage!
(Does this mean I call you "Mom?"😉

"you be starsky, I'll be hutch"

that clone saga, while providing a lovable character(ben) gave me WAY to many head aches and brain farts.

Well, I AM older than you, and Carnage always calls Venom "Daddy" so I guess that's ok-- Oh, Hell, you can call me whatever you'd like.
She-Carnage--that would be cool, but you'd have to be so damned EVIL!!! Oh, well, at least you're on my side.

Well, sometimes I don't think She-Carnage would be evil becuase she'd have no concept (like Kasady) of the motive for good; so like an animal, she'd just be a killer, no choice involved... other times I say, there has to be some willfulness to his ignorance... I bet Kafka thinks like this all the time.

By the way, I'm caving. Will be buying Venom versus Carnage.
So sick. Cannot help myself. Soon I'll be snorting comics again. I'll end up on the needle I suppose.

Did you know that long-time users, those who have been injecting comics for years- eventually the ink becomes visible in their skin? They develop full-blown tattoos of their favorite charactors.

Wow, I love having you around, red--not just because you're another comic mama like me, but because you make me seem significantly less kooky. I like that.

well, your right about the kooky part.
