The Suggestion Thread

I would just like to point out that I've suggested this same thing, and I haven't changed my name in almost 2 years (and likely never will again).

I've heard the argument that "it just forces the user to be more creative", but seriously, why are we giving deference to people who joined 2, 3, and more years ago but never posted once?

in my case it is 5 years😂

I don't see what the problem would be. If someone wants their username, e mail the original user, give them a response time, if they don't respond or respond saying it's okay, then let the username be re administered.

good idea.

Just wondering, some suggestions for forums get rejected because they dont have enough popularity or dont have enough traffic, but Star Wars gets a new one for the TV series. This forum has 6 threads, one of which is closed. 4 of the threads havent had a post for at least a month. The only active thread is for current information/trailers etc. The tv series screens (here at least) on August 14, less than a month away and yet the forum still remains dead. I understand that it will most likely pick up once the series starts, but that brings me back to why it was created in the first place if there is hardly any demand for it.

These forums have a strong link with Star Wars, considering they started out as one.

But yeah, I can see your point, the new forum hasn't exactly been a hit.

It was opened far too early. Trek has the same problem.

My long standing plan with Star Wars was actually to wait until the tv series was very close, then amalgamate the OT and PT forums and put the TV series forum in place.

Even that was a gamble because the Star Wars tv area won;t fully take off until the live action seruies comes, but it was still the best option as to what to do with the inevitable Clone Wars threads that will soon open.

Regardless, it WILL pick up. It's been hard to spoeculate because Lucasarts have kept it on a REALLY tight lid- and after all, it's only the movie that is about to come out, I don't think we have anything concreete for the series yet- probably October in the US, no idea elsewhere.

So yes, it's basically currently a forum about something that doesn't exist and very little is known about.

star trek does better than plenty of the other forums... srug

I have a suggestion guys.

That we delete all accounts older than 1 month that have 0 posts.
That way we could clear up loads of user names.

Ok, was wondering why there was hardly anything being talked about. Its depressing visiting that forum and seeing only 6 crappy threads 👇

Are you serious? Goddamn it...

Proxies take about two seconds to put up, yeah.

It makes banning all but pointless imo... which sucks.

Tell me about it. Some do deserve second chances, but most of the lot just need to stay banned. Wonder if anything can be done at all.

Socking isn't the way to get a second chance.

I'm struggling to think of an alternative for someone who's been perma banned.

Well, Vinny Valentine was perma-banned once, and he appealed to Storm and it was reversed to a temp ban.

How on earth did he go about appealing?
