The Suggestion Thread

Started by Grand_Moff_Gav334 pages

A good way to know if a topic requires its own forum is to look at the relevant forum GDF, TV Disscussion, Movies etc and count how many threads there are dedicated to a particular issue...

Now, how many do you see or have you even seen on Cars?

A handful from time to time. Nothing that merits an individual forum.

Every time I edit my Ignore List I'm reminded of the Ignore Threads option we used to have since the link to Edit Ignored Threads is still there.

1. Can we please get that option back?

or

2. Are you going to ever get rid of the link in the Edit Ignore List page?

I find it's really much easier to ignore people without using the ignore list at all. Just, you know, ignore them ermm

When you use the ignore option, you're always tempted to click the little "Show this post" link. At least that's been my experience.

I assume the same principle applies to threads.

Threads don't show up, at all.

And I can easily post around those who I've ignored without the need to check what they are saying.

Hence where I said that was my personal experience haermm

Why can't you just... ignore the thread? Like, when you see the thread link... just don't click on it.

😐

clearing out the members list

i noticed while looking through the members list that there is a massive amount of members with little or no posts....surely it might be a good idea to simply delete the non active members and free up some good member names that are currently being used

i'm sure it would also free up some bandwidth

just a thought

Has been asked a million times, and answer has always been - there is no need.

It's so logical it's shocking.

Does the fact that there's "no need" automatically make it a bad idea?

Pardon me, your adminship

adminiship? haermm

Sig size limits are starting to bug me. Doesn't 50kb just seem slightly too small for some people? I'll usually have to degrade the quality of my sigs to make them the right size, and it also gives little to no opportunity for animation.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

My thoughts...

1. I can make a perfectly capable sig without having to lower the quality to fit onto KMC.

2. The limit pushes people to try harder and be crafty with animation. If KMC had a large enough file size for everyone to have animation, there would constantly be something moving on the page, and I don't know about you but that would annoy the hell out of me.

50kb actually allows you to save at a pretty high quality. Using Save for Web in Photoshop, I'm usually able to save my sigs at about 90% quality and it still be under 50kb.

It used to be 30kb, remember. And people were able to pull off animations at that size.

Also, I think we need one of those Good Faith themes on KMC where Users are reminded to always assume another poster is trying to make constructive posts and be friendly and they are not (at least not deliberately) being annoying- especially considering the fact that something like 40% of internet-communication is misunderstood...

Smilies convey intent, just happens half the people dont use them, and they are the ones who are misunderstood..

That's obviously nonsense.

But it would free up old usernames, and allow me to drop the unnecessary, annoying and dorky 'red' on the front of my name. (I came up with a half-assed explanation, but it still grinds my gears that someone with like, two posts gets to keep a name that I want)

I agree.

It's slightly... no. It's just nonsensical.

With movies come merchandise....
Any chance we could see a "Movie Collectors" section for movie related merchandising as well as one of a kind memorabilia?
