What if... there was a toggle switch to turn smilies on and off within a specific post? Zetaboards has it and it is pretty darn frustrating to copypaste a link and find a 😮 or make a list and have 😖 waiting for you at the preview screen. Also: 1.) compared with 1).
The former can become 1.1) but 1). has to use a. or aa. etc.
And is it possible to add nesting lists? [list][*]asdf[list][*];alksjdf[/list][*];lajsdf[/list] Or increase the number of nested quote boxes?
These are all ideas that I have had in the past 47 seconds.

Here is a question:
Why is the first name only 8 days older than the one after it? Is that days before the next name change? I am reasonably sure that I was jbill for a lot longer than 8 days. Memory fail or reading fail?
This makes very clear that there is no user named 'bolt' in the registry. (I just watched the movie and liked it.) I should be able to change my name to 'bolt' because there is no user already using it (not even one that signed up and never posted/hasn't posted in so long that the forum no longer stores the record). The closest thing is 'Bolts' but

The rules don't prevent impersonation. There are many names taken without any posts to make them worth the bandwidth.
Suggestion: What if inactive names with fewer than [x] number of posts did not occupy slots? That is, a name with zero posts wouldn't prevent a user from taking that name. (This has happened with another name change or two for me now 😒.)
About the second one - if someone had that username at some point, then I believe that it counts as taken and can't be used.
But the members list shows that it hasn't been used? Or does that not include former names?
And the "delete users that don't have posts" thing has been suggested and shot down countless times.

This post makes me ask the question WHY? Was that ever disclosed and I forgot it or was it just a flat out no? I'm curious as to what the reasoning is behind not getting rid of people that never posted.
