It's possible; I'm not sure how vBulletin works, though on most forum softwares it's dependent on usergroup, not the individual forums.

That would imply that it is one area with just one thread in it... which seems a bit weird.
I think PR means so that people could have their own thread and would be able to edit it past the 15 minute edit window.

im not sure about vb myself either. always been more of a ********* person, and i dont remember how they do it.
yeah, i did.
These suggestions may be completely inappropriate but then again it's stuff just about anyone can talk about.
First one is a food/cooking forum. Lets face it, everyone loves food, making it yourself especially when it tastes good is just a great joy everytime. So a forum where you can talk about food, recipes, even post pictures of the gourmets and all food related talk could in my opinion be great.
The other suggestion I had in mind was a Work/Home Improvement forum, talk about regular work that you do in your house, how to best do certain stuff and what would work, suggestions, ideas, show of stuff you've made in your house to improvement on the quality of your home, garden work you name it. all handy work that you do in and around the house.

The suggestion of new forums isn't really appropriate at this juncture. We need to work on consolidation at the moment.
I think the answer to suggestions for forums should generally be where the poster can post about that now, as Rexxx did. If that then catches on and people show interest in can still be made into its own forum. But, yeah, I agree with you.

As much as I wouldn't mind such forums, they'd probably be better suited to the General Discussion Forum in the form of individual threads. Not bad ideas though.
Meh that forum seems like a dump site tbh, everything and anything is in there. You see what I suggested would be a place for ppl to count on a reply. Would be a great addition tbh.

The thing is though that they have a much better chance of a reply in the OTF or the GDF, it is very unlikely that people will go to a newly created forum (with zero threads) regularly. Many won't even know it exists.

Yes and no.
Yes that at the current time when a thread would be made it might get more views and replies at start. but later on perhaps even rather soon the thread would fall to page 2, 3, x, x, etc. and that would be that, no one would ever use it again.
Now with a dedicated forum ppl could always just drop in and get information about say bread, recommended wine etc. and in the long run the threads might even get more replies then some long forgotten off-topic/GD thread. Such forums would also get ppl really interested in said the topics. and therefor the quality of the posts would be higher, id prefer good and informative posts rather then many useless once.

I understand the advantages of having a forum, but unless the forum will actually get visited and has any interest there's not much point. I mean, why don't you try make a couple of threads about it in the GDF and see how they go?
