yeah well I could not disagree with you more. His stock hasn't moved at all. Superman more low points and more high points for that matter than Gladiator due to having a much longer on panel history. The two are physical equals, but I give the edge to Superman simply because he is more level headed overall and also, I could see a scenario where Gladiator could lose confidence in his mission. Calling gladiator a mid Herald is sacrilege by the way.

Gladiator is easily on par with supes in terms of strength, and also has very impressive feats.

Superman has all the superior feats and is a much better fighter (can fight more efficiently and multitask his powers when he wants). Superman also has abilities that Gladiator doesn't have (like going intangible).

So Superman clearly wins this but it won't be easy at all. Superman wins after a somewhat tough fight. The reason I say this is because Superman holds back while Gladiator at times is willing to kill. So Glads can possibly win one or two because of this.

A prepped future gladiator who hit Thor while he was saving innocent lives still felt the difference in their ability when Thor beat him unconscious.

Gladiator has proven himself against high heralds, keeping up with if not besting Thor, Supreme, Silver Surfer and Hulk

IMO, much depends on the circumstances of the conflict. I actually think Gladiator the captain of the guard is more dangerous than Gladiator the Emporer. As the captain, it would be easier for him to remain singularly focused against an opponent like Superman.
