Agree.
The show is definitely tough on the eyes.
The style is a bit like Jackie Chan, minus the brightness,
cool stories, likable characters, great voices, and
light-heartedness.
And the rastafarian Joker is definitely a no-no.
I think that the animation style and art is fine for the Jackie Chan series, but for a Batman series it should have been something completely different. Just because it worked for the Jackie Chan series that doesn't mean you can splash the same style/animation/art on to a whole different character and universe.
"The fact that it can be comparred to the Jackie Chan cartoon shows much of a miserable failure it really is."
Exactly,
"It's like cartoons can't be gritty and serious anymore. They have to be bright, and colourful, and silly these days. It's just crap."
I completely agree, the two shows that first come to mind when I think about a serious and gritty series is the 90's Batman and X-Men. I mean think about it, both shows actually had tragedies and drama like characters dying, characters who displayed true emotion, examples of humanity's hatred against one another, etc. I can almost guarantee we will never see shows like these again. They are more into the anime style animation trend and pointless plots than anything else.
ok if you look at Jackie Chan that way, I can see your point, but most of Chan's movies are comic, so it seems natural that his TV show should follow the same patten.
The Batman imo, falls way behind Chan, It lucky if it passes Cartoons of the 20's or early 1910's on artwork along.
Well thsos early cartoons did have better story lines, You always hated Bruto when he steals Popeye's girl.
Or feel sad when Mikey gets dump by Minnie because he trip and had his face full of pie lol.
I want my Batman dark, which is my main gripe I guess.
This Batman TRIES to be dark lol.
What I see in a Jackie Chan movie, or his show is the comic,
What I see in Batman is the dark, edge, scary villians ete. If you turn Jackie Chan into a dark show, It will fail, just if you turn Batman into a comic show(Today forget the 60's) it will fail.
Sort of like asking Supes to not take it so easy on the villians lol.
I guess you mean Bane, Yeah he was goofy looking.
Now the Bane in the comics, and BTAS was something else. BTAS Joker is indeed a scary villian, He is relly creepy in MOTP.
Not sure what to think of THIS joker (I know I lower case the j, no way am I going to cap the J, for this joker)
But scary is not one of them.
