I can swear under oath that the articles are for real and I haven't made up any of those. I try to search http://sfgate.com/ but it only contains 30 days materials for all articles. I suggest you contact SF gate to confirm those stories should you feel needed.

Dber - First of all, I want you to know that, even though I don't agree with you, I do respect your views, and welcome you to voice them here. However, it is important that we remain on topic here. The majority of your criticisms are, in all honesty, irrelevant to whether or not HJ would make a good James Bond or not. THAT is the point of this thread, after all. Saying that he is overrated, or gay, or a bad father, or that he has a big nose is all very well and good - but it has nothing to do with his ability to convincingly fill the part of JB! However, if you would like to elaborate about his so called "mugging", then that would be a perfectly valid point of discussion.
As for the articles, I would, of course, never be so horrible as to suggest that you had made them up. But I think it is important for us to see some of them {if not from Sfgate, then from another source} to assess their validity. But please remember - these are INTERNET rumours, and as such have a certain degree of risk attached to them!
One last question - even if he is overrated, in your view, is that really any reason to HATE the man?

These factors do contribute to the suitability of JB roll. Look is important to JB roll and nose made up a big part of a man's face so nose is important. Bond should have very distinguished look and cold persona, not someone with a wolf features. This is so un Bondish. 😘 😠 😘 😠
As for the his acting ability, I have yet to see something that really impress me, his acting was too exaggerated for my liking (everything)or he failed to loosen up when needed (Van Helsing). I must tell you there are many many good actors in the world, and what makes HJ better than them?! NO! HJ was consistently overrated yet studio and innocent ppl paid the price. Maramix experienced a credit crunch after flop Kate and Leopoldand had to cut 15% of employees, mostly low to middle level staff, while HJ laughed all the way to bank and the poor laid off ppl. Universal is yet to recoup the cost of Van Helsing, and the planned TV series and ambitious revigoration of Universal age-old fanchise Dracula now gone nowhere.

Have you watched Steve Irwin in Animal Planet? Everytime I watch he reminds me of HJ, both mug in front of the camera, both hail from Aus (is that a trait?). I am not exactly a fan of mugging. (though some middle age queen maybe a fan)

There's no smoke without fire, why would these rumors dog him so consistently if there were absolutely no truth in them? Again I said, I am not believing them 100%, but I have reason to believe at least half of them.
