Van Helsing did made 109 million dollars profit 😖 it's not much but it's not a loss...

and TFP... I'm not sure if I can see him act like Bond, I only saw X-men 1 & 2, ... so I know he can act cool, but that's about it, cause a few times he had his australian accent "back"

Yeah in the first X-Men film but by the time they made the second film he got over that accent perfectly.

I haven't seen it that much ... but I didn't notice it , so it can't be that obvious 🙂

Van Helsing cost 160M + 60M local marketing and 40M foreign marketing. Total cost 260M.

Half of cinema grosses went to distributor. Calculate for yourself.

As for the his acting ability, I have yet to see something that really impress me, his acting was too exaggerated for my liking (everything)or he failed to loosen up when needed (Van Helsing). I must tell you there are many many good actors in the world, and what makes HJ better than them?! NO! HJ was consistently overrated yet studio and innocent ppl paid the price. Maramix experienced a credit crunch after flop Kate and Leopoldand had to cut 15% of employees, mostly low to middle level staff, while HJ laughed all the way to bank and the poor laid off ppl. Universal is yet to recoup the cost of Van Helsing, and the planned TV series and ambitious revigoration of Universal age-old fanchise Dracula now gone nowhere.

Have you watched Steve Irwin in Animal Planet? Everytime I watch he reminds me of HJ, both mug in front of the camera, both hail from Aus (is that a trait?). I am not exactly a fan of mugging. (though some middle age queen maybe a fan)

It happened only once and it was in the first X-Men film in the scene right before he crashes the trailer Rogue tells him to put on his seat belt and then he says 'Listen no one tels me what to do'. Besides that I haven't heard his accent on any other film.

from what I read:

Production Budget: $160 million
Est. Marketing Costs: $50 million

Domestic: $120,150,546
+ Overseas: $149,336,015
= Worldwide: $269,486,561

269-210 = 59

that's still 59 million dollars profit
(I forgot to look at the marketing)

You forget foreign marketing of $50M, total $260M. Grosses $269M. Half to distributors 130M. Net 139M minus cost 260M = Loss 121M.

can you give your source?

SO?????? What's your point????? X Men was an ensemble piece, it was the ensemble mutants and Byran Singer's direction that made it cool. Even X men fans thought Byran Singer was utterly biased to give the best bits to comrade HJ and all mutants were unfairly discriminated and pushed aside. They request less time for HJ! Get a grip!

🙂 😛 😄 😆

Seriously besides you nobody has had a problem with Hugh in X-Men 1 or 2.

I think you should take your own advice and 'Get a grip!' your obsession with Hugh is making you seem like a fool.

I am not saying I have a problem with HJ in X men, just that the films were ensemble piece, it is stupid to attribute all success to HJ. Every single actors and actresses were good, and Byran Singer was the best because he impressed me enormously. There was complaint that Byran Singer(Aussie and gay) had given the best to comrade HJ at the expense of every other actors unfairly so they are demanding a more balanced film.

Yes its ensemble which is why Van Helsing didn't do as great as X-Men 2 because of horrible writers.

Everything in Van Helsing sucks below belief! It is a serious contender for Razzies including HJ!
