In the race to see who will be the next actor to be tabbed the official James Bond, the cream of the field has narrowed to what the media has dubbed The Bond Five: Hugh Jackman (X-Men), Eric Bana (The Hulk), Rikki Lee Travolta (Camelot: Excalibur), Adrian Paul (Highlander), and Clive Owen (King Arthur).

Jackman, Travolta, Paul, and Owen are all classically trained.

Australia's Jackman and England's Paul both studied Shakespeare in drama school. Australia's Travolta and England's Owen both gained additional acclaim playing the title roles in 'Hamlet' and 'Romeo and Juliet.'

I still think Hugh is the leading contender since Bana is officially out of the race to play Bond. Unless anyone can think of someone else who has a better chance at the moment.

I seriously doubt wether Hugh will play Bond, he's too famous... I just can't see him as JB 😬

NO! As for the his acting ability, I have yet to see something that really impress me, his acting was too exaggerated for my liking (everything)or he failed to loosen up when needed (Van Helsing). I must tell you there are many many good actors in the world, and what makes HJ better than them?! NO! HJ was consistently overrated yet studio and innocent ppl paid the price. Maramix experienced a credit crunch after flop Kate and Leopoldand had to cut 15% of employees, mostly low to middle level staff, while HJ laughed all the way to bank and the poor laid off ppl. Universal is yet to recoup the cost of Van Helsing, and the planned TV series and ambitious revigoration of Universal age-old fanchise Dracula now gone nowhere.

Have you watched Steve Irwin in Animal Planet? Everytime I watch he reminds me of HJ, both mug in front of the camera, both hail from Aus (is that a trait?). I am not exactly a fan of mugging. (though some middle age queen maybe a fan)

Look does contribute to the suitability of JB roll. Look is important to JB roll and nose made up a big part of a man's face so nose is important. Bond should have very distinguished look and cold persona, not someone with a wolf features. This is so un Bondish.

You know, I just want to drop it, just when someone posted something as stupid as "Eric Bana was out as Bond, Hugh Nose Jackman has a huge nose chance", I just want to rebuke. For Christ sake I said once again this is a freaking JB board, NOT a HJ shrine!!!!!! Not only does he not deserved the role, every freaking Hollywood celebrities had been named as Bond number six. To say something like that is the stupidest comment I have ever ever ever heard.
