Started by dhyorjs14 pages

hi. i've watched the village last friday. just wanna ask about the ending. i didnt quite get it. did lucius die? even before ivy came? and whose responsible for that "creature" thing? is it ivy's father? i know its noah at the end. but that time when ivy was standing the front door giving her hand to that "creature"? who's that? is it his father? that time when there is a wedding party?

please answer my questions. i need the answers as soon as possible. thanks. or you can give me a site where i can access the whole story. thanks.

She was putting her hand out to get Lucius's hand, she couldsense that he was out there. And all of the elders were responsible for making the town think there were creatures in the woods

^^I thought I answered those questions in the pm you sent me 😬

Okay...don't persecute me, but I kinda liked the Village. I read the spoilers on it before I went and I kept an open mind. Some of the acting in it was lame, but I did like it. I don't feel that I entirely wasted my money. Maybe on the stale ass popcorn and flat rootbeer, but not the movie.
There were some laughable moments and there were a couple of moments where it was a little tense, but overall it was a good love story and I like the way it turned out.
It could have been better, but I think it was just fine the way it was.
I would have taken it a different direction, but I'm a writer and my brain is always improving storylines as I watch movies.
So...yeah...that's my opinion. 😄

Glad you liked it 😄

I hated the movie. the wierd thing is that i remember once reading a book that was a lot like this movie but i cant remember the name of it the acting wasnt very good i mean cmon not for a second was i convinced that she was their wasnt very much substance to the story line I dont understand why m puts his name next to every title I think hes trying to be like alfred but fails miserably i did enjoy the 6th sence but after that each movie has steadily decreased and one more thing how was she able to climb up that tall straight wall at the end expecially if she is blind

I saw it to see if all of the hate was nessesary and it wasn't it was a great movie. It had class. But I'd have to say I really didn't need the

Spoiler:
present day twist at the end
but other then that it was great.

This movie sucked on ice in my opinion. I wasn't surprised when i found out that it lost a third of its audience. it should of lost more than that.

It is a good flick. The story and the characters are very good and thought out and thats what I loved best about the film.Im not scare crazy where I go to be scared and get mindless violence without the story.

I agree the twist needed some work 😬

Well considering the whole movie relied on the twist at the end, that is quite a large problem. The characters were horrible, they were barely one demensional.

The characters werent horrible..better than most in horror/suspense movies nowadays 😬

Not really, they were horribly basic and, as I said, one demensional.

Phoenix's character said like 2 words teh whole movie, he was the basic, generic quiet guy.

The retard was the basic retard, nothing new or different there.

And the blind girl with the heart of gold.

Again, these character were all developed horribly, if at all. And since the focus of this movie was purely building to the ultimately disapointed climax, that makes the film even worse.

I admited that the ending needed work the rest of the film didnt.

Well, if by "didn't" you mean that it's okay to have no character development, and a cheesy overall story that isn't edgy, witty, or interesting. Then yeah, I guess you're right.

The story was interesting and the characters where cool.

Its nice to see something different and something not repetative to every other suspense flick out there 😬

"The story was interesting and the characters where cool."

You keep saying this, but you give nothing to back it up. Therefore I, and no one else can take that seriously.

Again, the story was generic, basic, and formulaic. It's whole purpose was to lead up to the ending, which of course, was terrible. If the whole movie has no purpose other then a lead in to the ending, then that's a bad movie.

The same goes for the characters, they were not develolped, they were simply vessles used to move the story to the end where we could see the ending. They were not developed, they all showed very little emotion and feeling, and none of them had a viable and believable connection with one another. They also had no purpose other then to move the story to the disapointing finale.

I disagree that this is even a suspense film. It was a poorly written Drama that was incorrectly advertised as a suspense film, with monsters, action and all that. What we got was nothing.

This ending would've kick so much more ass.

Spoiler:
I'd like the ending to go something like this. When the blind chick goes to get medicine she reaches another village where the safe color is red and the bad color is yellow.

BF,I liked the characters and I think Joaquin Phoenix did the part well and did show alot of emotion and feeling towards the characters. Also this is the first film Judy Greer has ever done and I think she played the part very well considering this is her debut performance.Adrien Brody was good because his was able to get into this character thats dealing with a slight mental problem and just cant think or move straight.I had a hard time believing that the Adrien Brody I had seen around was actually playing this part.

You have misunderstood. I am not saying that the actors did a poor job. I think they did a fine job with the material they were given. It's the CHARACTERS that were underdeveloped and poorly written.

Oh man, i hated this movie. There was such a hype over it, but i ended up hating it...ot was terrible.

Actors were terrific, but plot....sucked.
