Here's some stuff my high school history teacher told us (and stuff I've learned myself after 8 years of using the internet).

- Check your sources to see if they're reliable. If something seems farfetched, check another source to see if the info's the same.

- Don't believe everything you read on the internet. Since the internet is public domain, people can put whatever they want on there and not all of it's true. .edu and .gov sites often have the most reliable info (this isn't always true, but for the majority of research it is).

- Don't always believe what you hear on the news -- when a newscaster reads a report they ALWAYS put a bias on it, even if they're supposed to be neutral. Anyone who has ever watched the Fox News Channel knows this. In other words, there's more info.

- And just a little word of advice from me...if it's from an email, unless it's from an accredited news site, it's likely to be 1) bull, 2) over-exaggerated, or 3) both.
