1. the character Legolas is not gay...
2. the actor playing the character is not gay...(and if he were, not our business is it)
3. those who call him gay are either (a)jealous (b)have a very low self-esteem (c) have resorted to name calling due to a mob mentality(theoritical guess) or (d) have decided that the actor who plays Legolas and the character are one in the same and have decided to call "it" gay as a way to unify that 'one' from two diametrically opposed self-aware entity...even if one is a fictional character...

Legolas in the books is kick ass, I dont see anything wrong either with Orlando Bloom playing Legolas.
