Symbiotica
Arch-villainess
Get both "Shiver" and "Twist" to go with "Run," Fever, you need 'em. This is an excellent and interesting story; don't miss *any* of it. "What if we took John Carpenter's 'The Thing' and put it in the Marvel U?" Fascinating concept. What a movie these arcs would make!
That clone symbiote is a BADASS. It makes the Venom symbiote seem almost nice by comparison. It likes to stalk people through empty buildings and torment them and f*** with their heads and generally try to scare them to death: when it's not leaving roomfuls of dead bodies in its wake. It can usually work all these concepts into a single day!
IMO the art in "Shiver" is very, very hard to take; Young's work in "Twist" is comparatively easy on the eye [incredible statement!]. The story is important, though, so I'm still glad I got it.
Now as for the fanfic.... having wrote this thing, I did that WITHOUT reading Shiver 1st, BIG mistake, now I'm wondering if Patricia and that clone should be way more adversarial than they are. Because she really, really has reason to absolutely hate that thing. I'll probably leave it how it is for the most part.
As for my filling in any plot-holes, I dunno. It immediately struck me upon reading Twist that there was a whole great big sexual subtext here that was being hinted at but not gone into. Brock is talking dirty to Patrica during that alleyway fight. Yes, he is. Definitely! All this talk about tasting and teasing.... tsk. 😈 I love it. Personally I don't see how any hetero female could say no to Brock for all that long, especially with the many and various, er, talents he possesses... so I doubt my little potboiler will fill in that many gaps, but as far as resolution of sadistic love/hate attractions then it might be enjoyable for that.
I'm going to try and finish that this coming week, I'd have it done now but I have a great big old test Monday I should be studying for right now and am I doing that? NO, typical.
I want to get started on my next one, which is going to be starring Carnage and will probably be opening with that warehouse-roof scenario I posted over on the Hype a while back. I am ready to write about Carny; can't wait to get that going.
Okay, I am shutting up now, excuse this rambling about 😈
