I think Koto's last ff chap is the perfect example of life with a symbiote with out the rose colored glasses. can you imagine having the same trouble Naomi is having? not being in control of oyur actions at times...

i mean, what if you got mad at your symbiote. you couldnt just go away for a bit to cool down. and your sharing a body, so if you do something the symbiote dislikes...its grand theft body.

I don't know what Yaoi is...? I just want to read fics that deal with sexuality in an adult way, and I'm really into symbiotes (you may have noticed), Koto K seems to be the only one writing real female sym charactors right now. He's writing in more of an all-ages-friendly fashion, which I enjoy and would never question his preferences. I just wish some-one out there was writing something more NC-17 and up, but writing it with Koto's talent and emotional maturity.
"And the darkness binds us" comes closest, but its about a failed relationship that doesn't exactly lead to a long-lived passion (and the breif "happiness" involves a mullet!). Gaaagh! What was the author thinking? Its perversion like that which so poorly serves the sym genre that I am aghast- aghast, I tell you- at what passes for a 360-degree exploration of symbiotism. Siiiigh... (drools very sadly, dolorous drooling, like a cursed-out bulldog- why do we symbiotes get no joy?)
Oh, and Robo, the stuff about heavy metal having the potential to hurt symbiotes isn't my idea- its comic-book cannon that amplifiers can be used against syms, and metal music means max amplification, right? I'm just curious about the converse. Do they like easy listening? Kenny G? What a curse to bear as a symbiote's host!
I think the drool is something symbiotes do without recourse to the host's anatomy- it may not be merely discharge, for all we know, but a living, perhaps even sensory component of the sym organism? Or a chemical communication, like among insects? I mean, what do we know? I used to think it was just Eddie's idea of scary, but too many symbiotes also do it.

Only in certain cases is it remotely plausible, but I think fan fic should be an open field where anyone should feel able to share their interpretations. Yaoi slash Pi$$ES ME OFF SO MUCH. i try to be open minded, but often they take a characterand massacre him. if it was actually part of the plot, or it made some remote sense then i wouldnt be peeved. like one fic i read, they took this player of guy, and had him making out with this other guy,and they used a really crappyexcuse.

Lol, well for the whole yaoi thing and lacking of a story, I really have to disagree. I've seen alot of anime (I'm talking 245 different animes -- alot) and read a lot of manga (though, not nearly as much many as the number of animes I've seen). Nearly (yes there are a few that don't follow this) all the Yaoi animes/manga I've seen tend to have rather indepth stories and focused deeply on character development. As well as try to give the characters realistic traits. Ever see Gravitation? Its probably one of the more well known yaoi animes, and has a pretty indepth story.
Now, seeing as I'm a straight guy, that stuff just isn't for me. But again, I've seen my share of it.
To get more on topic, I think the whole slobber thing with the V-man is just that.... slobber. I honestly don't think its anything deadly (as there have been many people who have got the stuff splattered on them or have been drooled on. None of which suffered anything bad.
As for it being on alot of Syms, its not true, as the only ones I can think to have it are Venom and some of the many Syms that came during the Planet of the Symbiotes specials (and that chaged from artist to artist.... sometimes they had the drool, other times they didn't). Either way though, I believe its only for looks (notice Spidey didn't have it..... Scream doesn't have it..... Carnage doesn't have it...... Lasher doesn't have it..... ect. ect.). And even Venom didn't get it till some of the later artists started drawing him and apparently wanted to give him a more gruesome appearence.

Well, I think anything involving syms should be green, go,-from fanfics to comics to fanart. Speaking of which, Symbiotica has done some killer Harley Quinn/ Carnage fan art called, I believe, Gotham Nights? I'll see if I can find it and report back. I love Harley Quinn and can totally see her and Clete-ums as a couple, once Clete peels the white skin from the red corpse of that nasty-bad Joker man who so, so meanly got in his way when he was trying to off Spidey in Gotham...
And, yes, Kiekan, you're right; there isn't that much drooling going around- though I could swear I've seen Scream slaver her fair share.
I've read slash- its everywhere. Usually you can't get through a paragraph without hitting eject, but the authors seem to be invariably talented, so sometimes the plot and charactorization, exclusive of the slashy scenes, is very compelling. Only rarely, though. And even more rarely, I find the slash to my liking. Buffy/Faith, I can buy into it... I'm an adult; I'm not embarassed to admit to being open-minded.

These are hardly the strongest pieces of art on his site, so be sure to check out the others. I love the strong lines and crisp contrasts and the gracile forms.
And I have to add, the way Carnage's left hand is drawn is somehow so evocative, it seems almost a relaxed gesture, calm, yet full of unconscious malice, like some rattlesnake sunbathing, not too motivated to strike, but intrinsically hostile.
I like the "aquatic" feel he brings to the symbiotes, they seem almost like extravagant deadly tropical fish, like lionfish, all sharp spines, trailing fins with razor hooks, exotic pretty nasties.
