I wouldn't call it a sacrifice. He had a shoot out with Floyd and they both got gunned down. I don't think Slade thought "Hey, I'll let Deadshot shot me so I can shot him," its just how it played out.

Prior to the shoot-out it was a stalemate and in order to draw Deadshot out in the open he agreed to the challenge. Really DS had nothing to lose, as he wouldn't have died from the altercation due to his healing factor. He sacrificed his body to get at Deadshot

Maybe but I figured that Slade just thought he could beat Floyd in a quick-draw and fire first.

Actually Slade has done similar things actually, he is a brillant tactianary, I think your underestimating him greatly, he has done some very impressive things just in order to escape or one up the target.

While he may not show it with the way he acts Deadpool is a superb martial artist and fighter, with skills far beyond those of Deathstroke, who really isn't that good. Deadpool once fought Black Panther in h2h and T'Chaka was so impressed that they started comparing moves and the different ways they would have avoided the attack. Slade... well... um to be brutally honest he is an average fighter. It is the reason people like Batman, Nightwing, Azreal, Bronze Tiger, Deadshot, Eddie Fryers are able to fight with him and stalemate him and on occasion even win. Slade has some super human stats and his reaction time is insane but in terms of skill he isn't on the level of even the Punisher.
