"Fine." Harry said. "Then follow me."
"Who are you to give me orders, Potter?" Voldemort snarled.
"Unless you want to do it here, where you have a disadvantage?" Harry sneered behind his visor, his voice dripping mockery. "You're brave, Voldemort, I'll give you that. But I'm going to put us on fair terms, unlike the many people whom you killed personally."
Voldemort was visibly stung by Harry's taunt, and set his jaw. "So be it....like a hero, you are foolish; this thing called 'honor' shall be your downfall."
They walked for a bit, Harry and Voldemort facing each other at all times in case the other vied for treachery.
Finally, they faced each other in the wide-open courtyard; for some strange reason, it was raining heavily.
Harry's followers and friends came out to watch; there was some sort of electric intensity in the air, feeding adrenaline to all. In the distance, thunder rumbled and lightning flashed. Dimly, Harry realised that the weather also reflected his mood. Everyone was scared and excited.
It could end tonight; Harry could fulfill the prophecy and be a hero to the public; the Dark Lord's followers would fall once their lord had fallen...
No. That kind of thinking was dangerous. There was a task to be done, and there was the very real possibility that he might be killed.
If he fell, many of his companions may die. they stood in the trees some distance from the two combatants, giving him space.
Focus on the moment, his inner prescence told him. Block anything unecessary out.
The Emerald Knight and the Dark Lord faced each other and raised their wands in front of their faces.
"And now," Lord Voldemort said, "We begin."
He raised his wand to the skies; thunder crashed and the rain surrounding Harry turned to ice, glittering shards of ice that rained upon Harry. At first, Harry was flustered but his mind turned an eerie, ice-cold calm and he raised the torch and used its fires to melt the ice into scalding steam.
He whirled his wand, willing the armor to do what he commanded of it.
The steam heated to nearly its flash-point and glowed a dim orange. Two arches of superheated gas rose and coalseced into a rhino and an eagle. They both struck for Lord Voldemort, but he flicked his wand and the two animals turned into glittering dust before they reached him.
Voldemort sent a killing spell at Harry, but his adrenaline was up and running now and he was able to throw himself out of the way. Still, it passed by so close he could still hear the gigantic rush of speeding death.
Harry touched his wandtip to the cold brick of the courtyard and immediately a sheet of ice spread rapidly along the ground and under Lord Voldemort, who slipped momentarily; Harry then shot a blast of lightning towards him, but two slabs of ice broke off the ground and lifted Voldemort's feet, avoiding the lightning, which blasted the fountain into oblivion.
Voldemort raised his wand again and the rubble from the fountain came flying toward Harry at amazing speed. His arcane sword and torch-blade both came up at the same time, and Harry chopped furiously through each one with his enhanced reflexes, even managing to run forward through the hail.
With a roar, both bright blades came down but was stopped by Voldemort's own Marathia wand-sword. It was predictably green, the same color of the Dark Mark.
Voldemort then stepped back quickly and cast a slashing curse at Harry, who took the full force of the blow. The armor deflected most of it, but it still felt like a hammer in the gut.
