To answer your question, I just don't know. It seems odd he would shoot a gun through a closed door. It seems odd that it would be murder when he didn't know who was behind the door. Those are not the only reasons, of course. Obviously, the US does not have a verdict known as "culpable murder." Seems Culpable Murder is appropriate because he didn't confirm his target. But it seems very low-end (assuming he is just not a cold-blooded murderer) so he should not get any jail time...I think....
