Either you sorely underestimate Whedon's storytelling ability... or I sorely overrate it... because I highly doubt the that Cyclops' death was meant to be the climactic "death" twist.

i just can't really imagine how he's going to take that one back; emma, a telepath, was holding his inert body in her arms. either she forgot that she can read minds and feel respiratory function, or he's dead.

She's faking, the only way you can catch Danger off guard is if you alter your usual style of combat. eg. Colossus shoving Emma at Danger. Scotts going to have a "gotcha *****" moment.

I just looked over AXM #20 and it got me thinking. If Armor does die, for me that would be more of an emotional impact then the 40+ deaths in New X-Men. She's a kid who has been dragged into this whole ordeal. She doesn't even want to be there and then you have Wolverine trying to help her cope with the tough love talk. It would be one of those situations where life is just so ridiculously unfair. I don't even want to think about the guilt afterwards, thank god it was Wolverine and not Emma. Don't think she can handle anymore guilt.

you could be right... though i'm not sure... i don't think her death would have as huge of an impact as one of the actual x-men... i just don't think she's popular enough yet for her death to be that big of an impact...

Hmm maybe. She's sort of grown on me, I still have Blindfold though. I've always liked Negasonic Teenage Warhead because of her name, but AXM just made the character for me. They're all going to die or are already dead...damn comics.

i like them too, axm has a pretty good if underrated supporting cast imo...

Well it looks like they want us to believe Emma will die,i am still waiting for scott to emerge as his own man and such,not thrilled to see in the few issues that he has lost his powers we have only one good moment so far

Apparently the delays on Astonishing have nothing to do with Whedon or Cassaday. Cassaday says he does more then one issue worth of pencils each month and Whedon says he has only turned into two late scripts. Both of them insist they can do a monthly... 😕
