From the night the castaways arrive they saw the trees fall.I doubt the smoke is that contagious around the island.
I'm not a writer on the show and I dont know if the writers are gonna go with scientifically or spiritual but I think it would be too far fetched if they went scientifical and to stupid if they went spiritual with the conclusion.I just hope whatever they come up with isnt plausible and unexpected.
If they turn around with some ... "Theres ghost....OOOOooOOOO.." rubbish I will hate this show forever... I love a good puzzle, and to me thats what lost is... I want to think..."OOOOHHhhh Never though of that", not "What! rubbish smoke ghosts don't exist..."
I will be personally insulted if theres not a scientific explanation at the end of this... And they dare think of copping out with Aliens...

didn't you hear the chains and kind of machinery sound when he was being dragged in to the hole?the smoke could also be odour less and there could be tons of secret holes and passageways beneath them where people are releasing chemicals..i personally believe that the monster/creature is man made and has something to do with maybe the others or whoever..either that or it's an unknown other worldly thing..which i hope it isn't..😬

Taking drugs because he knew eventually he'd have to leave his quarantine and deal with everyone else. Maybe, the computers were already there from the french woman's reasearch team? They never asked the french woman about the hatch.

I personally would think it extremely pointless and lame if it was to be man-made other than something supernatural. I would think the series lame if they took some half-baked turn like that. Hopefully, the writers are professional and won't pull that shit.

I just really dont think any kind of man made object can do what its been doing.
Snatching people our of plains and throwing them shredded up into trees,knocking down trees,plucking up trees like they where weeds.It just doesnt add up to a man made object.
I hate to say this but I really think the writers are digging themselves into a hole they cant gracefully climb out of but then again we'll just have to see how it goes.

the frenchies got shipwrecked, most of that base was designed around the computers.... the base would of needed the computers before the frenchies turned up.... Plus the they got shipwrecked in 89/90's, why would they bring 60's/70's stuff on there voyage...
