I need to be high for this

Computers are programmed by people to do things..... was the island?

Ben can't be dead, he has to grow up and be an a$$hole. Remember what Faraday said, something like "you can't change the future", or something like that.

he won't be dead... not just yet anyways

next episode ("Whatever Happened, Happened"😉 he's going to be save... though Jack refuses, he will be safe

but then there's the next episode afterward

S05E12 "Dead is Dead"

Spoiler:
"To atone for sins of the past, Ben must attempt to summon the smoke monster in order to be judged."

so...

Spoiler:
In order for Ben to summon Smokey, he must be old and alive... so he must have survived the gunshot.... Or is he in a alternate timeline?, or must die, and has to be judged... sorta like he were in Limbo?

... though that last bit is pretty damn unlikely 😛

wow, i really need to watch this episode already

that sounds like a decent episode

I'm hoping young Ben dies but realize he probably won't. He won't because I think they are going with Faraday's "whatever happened, happened" as cannon and he's alive in the future so he must not had died as a child.

I think they need to swerve us on that. Obviously some things can be changed, hence the universe course correcting itself. We have been shown that Desmond can change the past (well, others interacting with him)....so it's not a finite rule. There are exceptions. The one major exception would have to be the one event that took place in the past or the future (from our perspective) that caused this circular timeline to begin with.

They are being a little shady on this subject. They tell us nothing can be changed, whatever happened, happened. They also tell us that things can be changed resulting in the universe needing to course correct as a result of that change. Then there's Desmond. I'm kind of tired of them playing both sides on the subject. They need to just go skewed timeline ala Back to the Future or something akin to allow for all of this. They are lying to us one way or the other as it stands. Either nothing can be changed or Desmond can change things and the universe must course correct itself. Both can't be true. That's the only paradox on the show right now.

The reason I want young Ben to die is the show looks silly by him not. Dude was shot by a trained assasin right through the heart. Watch it again, heart shot. Nobody else is around. He should be dead within the minute. When they have Juliet, Jack or whoever save him, it's just foolish. Shennanigans at it's finest.

Faraday said himself that desmond was special, and he can only change the future.

But yea, who knows if hes the only one.

Anyone else miss Faraday?

I don't

I do. But I don't even remember where he went.

I do miss his point of view on things.

We'll be seeing what happened with him in a couple of episodes time.

The irony is that Sayid's actions have by the looks of it, created the monster that Ben is in the future. He believed in changing the past, but he doent seem to have been too successful.

Let's just wait for LOST to explain it all before we start giving each other headaches.

As long as you dont get a nosebleed you'll be fine. 😛
LOST may never recite all of "The universe in a nutshell" or "A brief history of time. But it alludes to it. Its never gonna be a show where every tiny thing is explained directly. A certain amount of further reading may neccessary. A whole bunch of time travel hypothesis have been referenced here.

The rocket clocks, the Grandfather paradox and now the "If you go back and shoot Hitler, will it drive him to do all the things that make him Hitler...? My money says causality will be the key..

(It wont be a god thing, Im sure)

Last time he was seen, he was in the Orchid.

Anyways, I really am starting to hate Sawyer. I don't know what it is but I just can't stand him.

And he helped Pierre Chang in the vid where the Chang that addresses us had been told about George W.Bush and our usage of something called "the internet" to "share data and ideas". He put out a plea designed to be heard in our time 30 years later, to reinstate the DHARMA initiative on the island, in an effort to change the past and stop the purge. The voice of the man filming was clearly Daniel's.

Either that or he flashed off-island back to the 2nd world war to be a journalist/war correspondant. 😖hifty:

yeah, the comicon vid.

I'm thinking that is going to come into play in the last episode of the season. I think that's going to be the big ending to the season.....Chang learning about the future and time travel and whatnot from Daniel.

yep, it is clearly Daniel

I wonder how he convinces Chang he's telling the truth...

anyway, Big spoiler by DarkUFO about the season finale... though it's not a complete sentence...

Spoiler:
Young ***** meets ***** at *** dad's funeral.

some are saying this means: (BIG POSSIBLE SPOILER)

Spoiler:
Young James meets Jacob at his dad's funeral.

all that because of the following casting news

Spoiler:

Marc Pellegrino (Rita's ex-husband in Dexter) could potentially play the role of Jacob, in an off-island flashback (circa 70's). He'll be meeting some familiar faces.

One of them is *a**** (Sawyer?, Daniel?)
