It's always good news to hear that writers are starting from the ending during the process

Anyway, i just finished the season finale and i have to say that i was satisfied but i can't help but feel that something is wrong. I did kind of have a problem with how rushed everything was. I don't know why things were made to seem to dyer. I'm sure i missed a few things but why did the bomb have to be dropped into the pocket so soon?

It had to be dropped before the Dharma Inititiative broke into the pocket of energy, and they were going to do it right then. Radzinsky was hellbent on drilling drilling drilling. If they didn't do it right away, then Radzinsky and crew would have drilled into it, and caused "The Incident"

Which in turn would cause the creation of the Hatch.

Which in turn brings 815 down.

I'm also still struggling with jacks transition from being a realist to becoming a fatalist. His motivation to blow everyone up was because he was heartbroken, i don't know, seemed a bit questionable to me. Although, it does fit very well with the metaphors of everyone else's motivations.

I doubt Jack's prime motivation is Kate. Let's not overlook Jack from the Season 3 Flash Forward Episode - "Through The Looking Glass"

The dude was a mess. Drunk, addicted to Oxycodone, and suicidal. He realized that everything he fought for on the Island was wrong, and that he should have listened to Locke.

Remember when Locke and Jack had the discussion at the Orchid station? And Locke said "You have a purpose, and you KNOW IT! The island won't let you get away from it!"

Mix that with The Freighter blowing up in front of his eyes, the ghostly visions of his father, Jeremy Bentham visiting, and all of that.

Jack saying "I had her" was more or less just an off the cuff statement.

He's all destiny now baby.

I guess im just wondering why, after Daniel died, they all just didn't decide to go their own ways. Without Daniel or Lockes' influences i really don't see jack finding it within himself to rely solely on faith.

Because Daniel told them it was possible for them to change the course of the future. Jack truly believed (and I think rightfully so) that this was his destiny.

but still it didn't played like that. I would have gone smoothly if he only never said that about Kate. they totally screwed it up with that... and sadly so, it somehow makes sense that's his reason.

...and we also had Juliet, a much more level-headed character than any other on LOST, making the totally out character decisions she made in the finale... but it had to happen, because the incident had to happen

but the Incident was the bomb... everything happened as it was supposed to: If Daniel hadn't come back with his crazy idea of the Variables, no one will have order an evacuation of the Island, Chang wouldn't have lost his hand ... and. as Daniel realized, he was supposed to come back and get killed by his mother all along... what other reason would he have to go to the Others guns blazing?

The hatch, as we saw it in season 2, would not exist if that bomb went off.

I doubt that's his reason man.

You don't know if the bomb going off was the Incident. We won't know that until Season 6.

The fact is, if what they detonated truly was a Hydrogen bomb, then the Island is destroyed.

Fact?

Perhaps the Black Hole thing absorbed the energy of the explosion.. Requiring the addition of the failsafe and the hatch etc.....meanwhilst catapulting the O6 into 2007..

Yeah, see, i totally understand what the writers were going for. Jack IS free will. I mean, ok so Jack sees his fathers shoes and gets a . This isn't going to be enough to rupture Jacks core. His entire life he has always put people in front of himself. Through out the entire series, Jack has been that guy who always plays devils advocate Once he adopts a perspective it becomes imbedded within him. He started out going back to the island for destiny, then, he gets there and decides to change his destiny. So, he is going to blow everything and everyone up and put his head in the sand No man, Jack is not that guy.

oh shit...,WAIT!!, hold the phones. I just now had an appifiny I was thinking that Kate is the one who should have been so stern about detonating the bomb, that is something that her character would do, although, I guess Jack was simply trying to think the way Kate does and make a decision through her perspective. Maybe that's why the ***** was always crying so much because she finally realized what a douche she is lol

explain.

in season 2, Jack and Sayid go under the Swan and see the entire area is filled in with concrete. Sayid remarks that the only place he's ever heard of concrete being poured like this was at Chernoble. I'm sure you know Chernoble was the nuclear power plant that had a meltdown and leaked radiation........had to fill it in with concrete to contain the radiation.

why is the area under the Swan filled in with concrete to contain radiation just like Chernoble? 'cause Jack and Juliet detonated a nuclear bomb in the area underneath of it. It had to be filled in with concrete to contain the radiation before they could continue to build the Swan on top of it.

whatever happened, happened. As already mentioned........if Daniel didn't come back spouting off about the variable crap they would have never tried to change the future. If they had never tried to change the future, Pierre Chang would never have sent Miles + his mother away...... he would not have lost his hand.......there wouldn't have been concrete poured under the Swan to contain radiation because there wouldn't be any radiation because there wouldn't be a nuclear bomb detonated. Faraday wouldn't have been shot by his mother. All of these things, however, have already occurred.......I refer you to Lost seasons 2-5.

how many times are people going to fall for this, "maybe they can change the future" crap. Hey......maybe Sayid can kill Ben and change the future. It's not likely that shooting Ben is what causes Ben to grow up to be a dick is it?

Everytime a character tries to change the future, their actions are directly responsible for the future they were trying to change in the first place.

Is it fact that Un-Locke is evil? I've certainly not seen anything of the like.

That would be quite the twist, wouldn't it, if UnLocke was in fact the force of light...?

Ive thought since the finale that that might be what the red herring was about.

I reckon that these guys re just like the Vorlons and the Shadows from Babylon 5.

Sure. There are two forces, or light and dark, but both use the death, pain or nice things to attain the results they need from their chesspieces in their game.

Like from our pov neither are good.

Just side A and side B of a the same record that we all dance to as we waltz of the cliff for their gratification.

I still think that Locke orignally died in the 815 crash.

I think Jacob 'possessed' him to guide to 815ers, until UnLocke had Ben murder him allowing Unlocke to gain control in the way that Jacob had Locke.

Jacob may have used Locke to get off of the island.

And what about Leonard back at Santa Rosa...?
Had he been a previous chesspiece for Jacob...?

Was he a previous game's equivalent of Hurley...?

I hope that Locke didn't die in the 815 crash. I would be pissed.

That would really take away from the character.

Possibly possessed him when he revived him after his father pushed him out of the building?
