OK... well you can say you don't give a **** but you obviously care enough to respond. If you're sick of people telling you to calm down then maybe you should take it down a notch. People are going to dislike bands you think are awesome and you can't do anything about that, so just chill out and quit throwing a hissy fit.
Also, if everyone who doesn't listen to crappy gothic trend bands like Cradle of Filth is a townie then I don't mind being labeled as one.

Seriously man, you need to get over the fact that a lot of people don't like Slipknot aren't 'chavs' or 'townies' or any of that shit. To be perfectly honest, Slipknot are very tame compared to the majority of bands I listen to, and I know many other people who have posted in this thread could say the same.
Anyways, this a public forum, and this thread has been posted under music discussion, so everyone has a right to say what they think. Personally, I think Slipknot are a god-awful band who rely on a tired gimmick to sell records to disillusioned teens. But in their defense, they are excellent live performers, they really suprised me when I saw them. Lets at least try to keep it civilised from now on, ok?
