I live in Ireland 🙁 and they aren't really into the animé so I have to order it online. But what might boost my status a bit is that I have actually bought Vash the Stampedes glasses and a Trigun t-shirt 😄
Much like real school, SpellJammer is the anime dropout.
He half-asses knowing of and watching/reading anime. If he applied himself he could become an otaku but why bother? They are seen as dangerous amongst the anime community because thier laid back just don't give a damn approach too closely resembles that of people who don't get anime called normal people.
