Well yeah, sometimes we can be selfish.....But in most cases not intentionally.....example...many people do things for others hoping secretly to have something nice given back to them, or to at least be recognized for it.....now that is selfish....you should do things expecting nothing in return....not even a thank you.....BUT I do like thanks yous.. 😄

very true. Most of the things we do that are considered sinful are part of being flesh and blood. That's why I can't stand the fire and brimstone hypocrites who preach destruction for failing to repent of all sin.

It's not possible to be sin-free.

It is possible to be forgiven for being sinful. After that we're thankfull and we don't feel good about doing certain things anymore. That didn't happen overnight for me because I got saved young and as I got older I rationalized many things that I know God didn't approve of. Stealing was something fun until I got arrested and I was ashamed because I knew better, and I was thankful that I was arrested instead of allowed to continue until I was destroyed by that particular sin which I PURPOSELY committed. I don't steal anymore and that means that I've grown spiritually. Why should I worry about commiting sins accidentally? I just try not to commit them on purpose. God knows our hearts and can separate the unselfish acts from the underlying desire to be recompensated. We're only human.

And as for Ghandi God knows his heart as well. I doubt that he is not with God because through his life, God seemed to be very much with him. 😮‍💨

If you go by the christian faith, yes he's in the first circle of hell which is limbo.

Yep....Christians would say he's toasties by now...cause he didn't except Jesus as his savior...

He's not toasted, but in a place of sadness. Limbo is a layer of hell, it is the first and is a place of silence and a feeling of sadness. It is not burning hell. That doesn't happen nutil I think the third or fourth layer.

Limbo is when your dancing under a pole....not something found in scripture.

Yes, Limbo is something invented far later, as far as I know the Bible, with it's black and white mentality, didn't give you places like Limbo. Your saved or damned. No second chances. Which I think is a bad deal, and if God exists wouldn't be true.

that's catholic

Catholics have purgatory but I never heard of a third or fourth layer of hell. I used to be a catholic but I diddn't like making up stuff to be sorry for at the confessional and I never knew wich saint to pray to so I left.

Never new which saint to pray too....wow that's a drag....They just have too many...Kinds of like goddesses and gods really...Hum?

Namaassta

They usually pray to mary the mother of "God", but they have others. "ST Peyer"m "SR PAUL" and a lot of minor st s but U don't know if they pray to them or notm they orobably do, I went to catholic school and the preist and nuns wore necklaces with a lot of beads called rodarues and rget wutld say a orayerr for each bead, I think they prayed to God once in a while to.I never knew if I should pray to the father or the son or the Holy Spirit though.

I am a christian but I am not God. There is no christian that can judge a mans heart and I am very glad for that because there is no perfect christian and that means that no christian is FIT to judge a mans soul. Anyone can say they are anything but you can tell what type of person they are by what they produce or present to you.

No christian should assume that they know the fate of another mans soul. It is stated in the bible "Judge not lest ye be judged".

There are many hypocrites that claim to follow the christian faith but do NOT speak with humility but rather with superiority and harsh judgements for their fellow man.

Jesus wasn't like that at all so how can people who claim to follow him be condemning despite the fact that he wasn't? They're being used to dissuade people from seeing the christian faith as something that is available to all despite what they DO.

Some christians may condemn Ghandi but that is not their right thankfully. I myself do not know and simply hope that he has found the peace after death that he fought so hard for in life.

"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of God"

Do you think that Ghandi was anything but a peacemaker?

I don't think so but it's really not my call. 😮‍💨

Good post, just treat people like you want to be treated.

actually I read a book called so what's the difference. it said that Gandhi rejected Jesus and his ideas and wanted no part in it. This makes me believe he is because he of what he said.

Gandhi was a Buddhist by heart and that religion has nothing to do with Jesus.

I'm sorry, he was Hindu and he talked good about Jesus but he never said he accepted him.

Jesus was a Buddhist. If take the teaching of Jesus and compare them to the Lotus Sutra, it is as if Jesus had read the writings. Another thought is: the truth is the truth, Jesus and Buddha (500 years earlier) both taped from that same truth.
