There are many types of Buddhists just like their are many types of Christians. The type of Buddhism that I practice does not believe in many gods that die, I believe in a God (in the Lotus Sutra it is referred to as "The Buddha that was enlightened in the remote past"😉 and God is everything and is eternal.

Jesus was never a Buddhist and he never took part in it. you can't compare or contrast Buddha and Jesus. when Jesus talked he sounded like God without human form and he talked like he had authority. He doesn't talk like us and he knows what the future holds. No human can give information like him, no religious figure could. Buddha and Gandhi could never come close to his teachings. the bible said the if the world would write about Jesus life, the world could never contain the books. buddha and Gandhi were just mere humans and did only human things, jesus was different because he wasn't just human.

So you know this... I don't think you do. You were not there nor was I, can you really tell me what Jesus sounded like? You have been told this and you believe it, I do not, and I have read the bible and the lotus sutra. Go read and determine the truth for yourself.

I don't know for sure, but when he lived on earth when the people listened they said he sounded like he had authority and he sounded like he knows everything. Jesus taught many things the most humans cannot come up with or any at all. Paul taught things from his personal experience and from his teachers of the law, Jesus taught things that were from heaven. No one had to teach Jesus anything. Jesus sounded human but his words were not from a human and surely doesn't sound like it, if you read the gospels, it just doesn't sound human.

Many Buddhists talk about Buddha as if he was God himself and that his ideas came from heaven. The study I have done on the history of Buddhism and Christianity have made me realize that this "hero worship" is natural. I respect your belief, but if you want to read some books that will give you some perspective (not to convert you) I will give some recommendations.

so did the king who united Norway to one kingdom

Jesus was never a hero in his own country, he was considered a heretic by the Jewish people and by the Romans. Jesus said the prophets were heroes in the all the countries outside of their. own country. These prophets were not welcomed in their hometown and he said the same will happen to him. I do have a book that talks about all the religions and it is called so what is the difference and I don't have it right now. I don't know much about Buddha unless I can find that book and then I will give some info about him.

Was he also divine and talking with the authority of heaven?

thus the saying it is hard to become a prophet in your own town

not really, you would be treated differently and sometimes in criminal terms, it just depends on the people.

you clearly really dont get the saying

their were alot of people in the bible that were prophets but just minor and may only give one prophecy during their lifetime. Elijah would be considered a major prophet and he was forced to leave his own country because according to the law the pagan prophets must be killed because of idol worship. So Jezebel who was the queen with Ahab known to be the worst king in Israel and actually sacrificed his son in a fire to Baal. to get elijah back she killed over 800 of God's prophets. elijah came back and told both Ahab and Jezebel they both would be king and another king would replace him and so it happened and I don't know who the new king was?

The Jews didn't believe Jesus was their Messiah.....They never did and here are some of the reasons.......

Gonna read it cking???

the saying is something we use today

of course they never believed him and some even today blame him for their misfortunes. I know the reasons and they are pitiful ones to and I read a Jewish website and he said he never rescued them from the Romans and restore the nation. he said that anything person tries to convert him to Christianity then he would not be afraid to fowl mouth that person.

The Jews were aware of the pagan stories, and realized that the church was converging them into Christianity......to bring the pagans and the Jews under one umbrella......BUT THE JEWS were smart....they knew their or other myth history.....they recognized the similarities.

That's why they don't like Christians telling them they are stupid for not believing in Jesus, they want to be left alone.

I know the reasons and they are pitiful
the only pitiful here is your attempt to spread the word of the gospel

that is not necessary

But cking....everyone knows the gospel.....no offence it is what the church teaches.....But you have to look at all the other facts too....just like the rest of us and then converse on them also.
