They weren't? Then why were there so many? And, for a while it became a who's playing Bruce bonanza. The combo sucked. Jack held his own (on his own) in the first one and that was the only great movie in the series, IMO.

What you just said there was worth the time that you took to say it. Congrats. Batman is much older, had a larger fan base going in, and the appeal to the "every man" thing. But, somehow Spidey has held his own. Why? because so far there has been a general commitment to the series as is. You make those changes, I think you start loosing that fan base. The only way that doesn't happen after a change..you bring the heat.... A different actor/ a better villain/ a bigger story line.
