Alright some people took what I said in different ways from what it was intended to be.
I thought it was implied just out of movie knowledge that a 5 hour film would have an intermission, first off...not 5 hours straight of sitting in a theatre seat.
LOTR was boring because of Jackson. Look at how King Kong is doing because of its length - he doesn't edit for story and content, he just keeps a lot of things in and goes "its unnecessary...but...eh, I shot it right?"
Some of you think that I meant a 5 hour Spider-Man film like the ones we've been having, just longer. Good lord no. I would not be able to sit through that long full of whining and whatnot. I'm talking about a 5 hour Spider-Man film that has several villains in it and is an epic story. Think about a film that can successfully introduce the whole Venom origin (with the symbiote and all of that), plus have some emotional stuff going on, and some minor villains like Shocker and Rhino. First two and a half hours focus on the symbiote (with Peter facing Shocker and Rhino to show off his augmented powers), plus some Harry stuff and some MJ crap. Then there's the church scene, and he gets rid of the symbiote, and we have intermission. We come back from intermission and Venom is the focus, with some GOOD emotional stuff (like Brock tormenting Parker through Mary Jane and Aunt May). Finally ends with Brock being sent to Ravencroft, where in the cell next to him is a freakshow of a person...you guessed it, good old CK.
