I dont know.

I dont like the idea of a GG2 being a good guy. Its just to odd of an idea. I mean, sure it probably would be "cool" for the general viewing audience, but I just hate when a movie totally ignores the comic mythos.

Harry DID originally die to save Pete in the comics...

Well, seeing as how Venom as at the end, it will be a cliffhanger for 4. I say Harry will be a side villain with Sandman as the main villain. It makes perfect sense. 2 and a half villains like Kirsten said sorta.. Venom won't really be a villain so to speak becuz he won't fight I don't think. So Harry might become the goblin in this one because I think Venom will hold 4 pretty well by himself or with Carnage.

Oh yeah I guess that does kind of lend to a possible introduction for Carnage. How cool!

1st Spider-man Trilogy: Goblin Saga

fade to:

2nd Spider-man Trilogy- Symbiote Saga

I don't think Topher Grace will be around for another 3-4 movies.

Which is why I think Venom might be just given a climax battle with Spider-Man at the end of this one.

Wouldn't put it past Raimi 👇

I'm hoping if they have Topher become Venom, that they have him come back in #4, instead of just having him as a quick end villain. He's too huge of a character to play him off as if he's Rhino or Shocker. Those are 2 characters that I can see having one or two scenes at the most, you know? If Shocker wasn't the main villain in a movie, it wouldn't be a huge shock, but if Raimi makes Sandman the head villain over Venom, he should be shot.

wow that is mean, shot? I don't, but I really say keep Venom for 4.

No pun intended, right? 😄

I think that if they decide to continue the movies, they will definately establish Venom as an anti-hero, and bring in Carnage.

I think Raimi is trying to lure the cast back for one more movie - 4. After that it will be a recast and a new director will take over probably and show his Spiderman story.

Just change Dunst and I'm happy.

Tobey has to stay, he's great as Parker.

Why shouldn't he be a "quick end villain"? What's he done to deserve more? Raimi has at least unofficially "killed" two of the "huge" top 5 Classic members of the Rogue's Gallery already - you think Venom is exempt? [If he's even IN this thing, which is still very much in question.]

Should Gopher be Venom, are you really sure you want to watch several movies featuring... That 70's Venom? Will he be that compelling of a guy? Think carefully before you answer.

Are some of you this easily pleased? My God, the Decline of Western Civilisation is truly upon us.

Reality: and as someone who knows the ins and outs of SERIOUS back-problems from a standpoint of decades [and yes, the problem did strike me young], I tell you now his days are numbered. Get ready. He will not be around forever. Serious back problems have an expiration date: one day, *DING* and I'm sorry, you're out of the ring whether you like it or not.

I could honestly stand to see a non-mopey Parker anyways, but that's just me.

True, true..his back problems almost even prevented hinm from filming Spider-Man 2...

Well, there goes Tobey....

not exactly, he is in this one, and I think he could last one more. And why would Venom be a cliffhanger? Because he is like the badass evil Spiderman. Yes he killed the other 2 off, but I really do not mind that. And as for you talking so bad against Topher, I know I am not the happiest man on the planet about him being Brock, but this gives him even more time to get bigger and stronger. I think they could really do something with this.

1. Venom shouldn't be a "quick end villain" because he's one of the biggest villains in the Spider-Man mythos. He's had a huge cult following, a lot of feats, and is one of the only ones to spring his own comics out of it.

2. Raimi killed Goblin and Ock, yeah, I'm not arguing that. But they weren't just thrown in at the end of the film, they had an entire film for themselves. That's what I'm talking about. If Venom has as much screentime as John Jameson, and is just killed, why even bother?

3. I never said I think Topher is the best choice to play Venom, ever, on this board. I'd have preferred someone else. But we still don't even know if he's playing him for sure, and even so, we can't be sure he'd be horrible.

4. Stop insulting me just because you differ in my opinion, saying I'm part of the decline of civilization, with a z by the way. If you knew who I was, you'd think otherwise, trust me.

Ooohh... FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

That wasn't an "insult," it was a plain statement of fact. You assume my post was aimed directly at you, which is not necessarily the case. If it were I would have private-messaged it.

However... do spare me the "Ooooo, I am famous/wealthy/powerful in real life, if you knew who I was you would bow on trembling knee!".... because somehow I really, really doubt it. I have heard that line a million times and I absolutely do not believe you are *any* kind of celebrity or corporate big wheel, nor do I believe you command endless wealth and can have me tracked down and brutalized by your army of private thugs.

There are few things more pathetic than that kind of flame.

So, GG1 and Octavius were not "big villains in the Spider-Man mythos"? Interesting news. One more time, my point is not that Venom is not a "big" villain but that Raimi holds all villains in rather low esteem. He certainly has yet to display a qualm about getting rid of them onscreen. Why would he spare Venom? He's spared no one else.

True true true

Supposedly Ock isn't dead. Also, this is Marvel we're talking about here. Anybody can die and come back to life. Also, Symbiotica, could you do us all a favor and quit starting fights?

Yeah Ock isn't supposed to be dead, there was some deleted scene that was meant to let everyone know that I think. Also, Norman Osborn may be dead, but the Goblin certainly isn't. The end of SM2 made that pretty clear.
