Sandman, in my opinion, could be pretty dangerous. It's just that writers aren't using him to his full potential. If used correctly, he could seriously eff Spidey up (didn't he beat Spidey during their first encounter?). So that's why I think Sandy is in the third movie.
PS: I hate the bloody Superman forums. I think Supes fanboys are worse than Wolvie fanboys.. Ugh.. "Superman is invincible!! He can beat GOD and a Kryptonite monster at the same time!!!" (Sorta paraphrased that, the beating God part I've heard before..)

Well, in my opinion, Superman is about as 3D as a piece of paper, and they dumbed down his powers considerably in the mid 90's, making him much less than the Godlike Supes of beforehand. However, they can talk about Superman all they like. We've got Galactus on the Marvel side, and he could eat Superman, literally.
As for SM3, Venom may more than likely still be in it, and even if he's only near the end, he's gonna kill something, maybe even Sandman.

But still...why place Sandman after all those nice major villains in the big screen?Seriously, look...GREEN GOBLIN...then...DOCTOR OCTOPUS...then...Sandman?!
I agree.
After the villainous might of Doc Ock,Sandman seems a let down.Which is why he's not the only nemesis.
He hasn't got the villainous strength to carry a movie by himself.
After thinking about this for like 2 minutes I have a storyline that could work. I don't like the fact that I'm using Venom for just a final fight scene type thing, but this is what I think will happen now after Church's remarks about Topher. And even Kirsten helped in this idea sorta.
OK, Sandman is villain most of movie. Spiderman gets symbiote, intro Brock. Intro Gwen and her father blah blah. OK Spiderman with symbiote can stay with Sandman, but without it he gets beat. So in like a final battle type thing which will be very long by the way, (Spiderman has rejected the symbiote) Sandman comes and starts fighting Spiderman. We see Brock getting turned into Venom. Venom comes out of nowhere and starts fighting Sandman. He bites him and Sandman dies. Then he fights Spiderman for a while and Harry decides he must become the goblin. Maybe he will say something like " I should have done this a long time ago" to make people think he is going to fight Spiderman. Harry arrives on the scene and talks to Peter. Peter and Harry start fighting Venom, and at the end Harry kills Venom but dies at the same time.
I really would love to see that if done right.
I'd say Spidey's top 5, in no particular order, are:
1. Green Goblin (Norman)
2. Doc Ock
3. Venom
4. Carnage
5. Electro
Those 5 seem to be the real pricks in his side a lot of the time. Granted, characters like Kraven (idk why...) and Rhino and whatnot have had their moments, but I think those 5 up there are like the kings of the Spider-Man rogue's gallery.

So.... you're living in a tent or the back of your car or something, eschewing electrical power and all forms of consumerism? Okay, at least you admit it. That's your business and it is a free country.
3. Once again, you're putting words in my mouth. Did I say, at any time, that Ock and Green Goblin weren't big villains? No. Look back, I didn't, and there's no way you're telling me that I did.
I never said you claimed GG1 and Octavius were not "big villains." I could go further into this, but I think you're not interested in actual dialog, you just want a response.
For the third time, my original point was not that Venom is not a "big" villain or that he's somehow lesser, I said that the idea that Raimi is somehow going to let him survive the end of the movie onscreen is running against all past precedent. Venom will not receive special treatment from Raimi - should he be in this film - and you can bet large money on it. [if, that is, betting would not automatically turn you into one of us Capitalist Pigs or something.]
Sheesh. I begin to despair.
