Not to get totally off topic but I remember seeing when the Red Sox won game 4 I saw the hack Jimmy Fallon storming on to the field and kissing Drew Barrymore. I didn't think much of it even though it was pretty annoying, until I saw this letter to the Sports guy.
SOMEBODY STOP FALLON!
I feel like the woman in "Jaws" watching the shark patrol a dinner-filled water unable to find the words to scream. As the entire Red Sox Nation was celebrating with tears of joy and thoughts of our fathers and grandfathers, there was Jimmy Fallon running around the field with Drew Barrymore mere seconds after the last out, whooping it up like they personally dismatled the Evil Empire and beyond. WORSE, they were on the field filming the new ending of their movie. They should be ashamed of themselves. And every single person in the chain of command who gave them permission to do so should write a letter of apology in blood to every Red Sox fan on the planet.
No, even that wouldn't be enough. They spoiled the one moment I never thought I would live to see by taking a big steamer in the church of The We Finally Won Moment. I will never complain about Ben Affleck again. What Jimmy Fallon did is worse. And unforgivable. I will not see this movie. I will not ever support a single project that he is involved with. I cannot find the words to do justice for what he has done to disrespect our cherished moment. Please support me in hoping this movie, and his career, are flushed down the toilet much like what he's done to our Moment.

I just hope anybody associated with this disgusting stunt will get a "Steve Buscemi in Fargo" because they damn well deserve it.

man... i can't believe some Yankees fans... this one guy was saying... every time before each game, Schilling was in the dug out putting red dye on his sock to make it look like he was bleeding.... wow... give me a break...
and the Red Sox open up against the Yankees at Fenway... that means the Yankees will be there to watch them recieve the WS rings...

Ditto. Sorry, Strangelove, I usually agree with you, but even though I was disappointed with the Card's play in the series (I had hoped they would win a game or two), even I was too busy being happy for the few Red Sox players that I actually admire and respect to give a crap about (or even notice, honestly) Fallon and Barrymore's shameless movie marketing shenanigans...
DanZeke--you think Lowe will stay? If he does, do you think that he will have finally earned the respect that (I think) he deserves? That guy went from the doghouse to the outhouse to the penthouse this year. Man, what a ride for him. I am happy for him--and hopefully the demonstration of his true ability in the clutch will afford him the luxury of getting some of those motherf*ckers off his back next year.
As for Varitek, I wish he'd go to Seattle, but they have little chance of wooing someone like him at the present time. Installing Hargrove as manager does lend some credibility, and it does a bit to restore my faith as well--It's no secret to anyone who knows me that I never liked the idea of a relatively inexperienced NL bench coach taking the reins as manager of an AL team--I always felt that pitching coach Bryan Price could have done just as well as Melvin--what was it that they said about Melvin? In hiring him, they were looking for the "Anti-Piniella". Well, much to my dismay, that's just what they got. So, ends an era of ineptitude. Yay!
Anyway... congrats to (most of) the Boston Red Sox.
