When you open the elevator ... okok, lift... there is one heck of a long white, very bright hallway in front of you. (mind you, you have sunglasses like in Nightfire as standard equipment!)
From your first glance, you'll find mostly scientists (interrogation?) and files (copying documents?)... it's up to you if you want to stay here or not...

You see that there are a few people here, most are apperently writing things down on a desk, others are talking to eachother.
Seems you have plenty of chances to get someone to talk to if you want ... from their actions, you can be almost sure they're all scientists; could give you precious info for your jobassignment but you might get the wrong guys to talk to
